PR - Proportional representation: an electoral system that means seats are apportioned depending on how many votes a party receives. Not that all PR systems are equal... maybe I'll have to do another parody explaining why some of them are just as iniquitous as our current FPTP system.

I used to like Tony Blair when the great President Bill Clinton was in office. But, since the selection of Dubya, Blair has had his head so far up Dubya's ass that I now believe that he's got to be as stupid as half of the voters in this country.

I think that I am tired of politicians for slightly different reasons than you (I would probably never consider voting Green), but they are certainly a great parody target and you got a bullseye with this one.

DKTOS too but since I'm living in a PR system I'll help you out with the explaining of the negative bits, right now we're ruled by a minority government depending on the Greens and the Communist to get things through parliament, when those two don't get an unproportional part of their will through they sometimes vote with the opposition (a single issue lost is here not cause for the government to stept down, it theory it depends on what it is, in reality it has only happened 2-3 times since WW2 and they only reorganized and came back the next week with almost the same peeps). In short: A PR system gives legal blackmail option to very small extremist parties. (I guess Israel is the ultimate example at the moment).

Democracy ain't perfect in any of its forms: but it doesn't have to be a choice between minor parties either having disproportionate influence or simply being disenfranchised. I agree that Israel probably is an (or rather the) extreme example of PR politics, but it would be just as bad (or worse) if they had FPTP and 36% of the vote was able to secure an overall majority.
