The Lyrics

If John Boehner, who is set to still be Speaker of the House in 2013 and 2014, is smart, he'll do what one of his predecessors, Newt Gingrich, tried to do in 1997: Work with the President of the other party who was re-elected in a landslide. But if he did that, if he compromised on "conservative principles" in order to keep the government operating well, would the Teabags in his caucus revolt, and remove him from his leadership role? I wouldn't put it past them. Then again, remember why Newt fell after the 1998 election: It wasn't that he tried to accomodate Bill Clinton in 1997, it was that he pursued Clinton in 1998... and failed. Which lesson will the hard right learn? Probably what they usually learn: Nothing.
(instrumental opening)

It's comin', a coup, John B.
A Grand Old/New Party.
Around D.C. town, we will roam.

Plotting all night.
Internicene fight.
Well, Mitt Romney's broke up.
We'll send Boehner home.

So hoist up old John B's fail.
Tears down his orange face.
Call Eric Cantor, he's sure to lead us on home.

Lead us on home.
He'll lead us on home.
Yeah yeah.
Well, Mitt Romney's broke up.
We'll send Boehner home.

At first he seemed so drunk.
Couldn't beat Obama's bunk.
The Koch Brothers said we have to take him away.

Karl Rove looked stoned.
Dick Morris, alone.
Well, Mitt Romney's broke up.
We'll send Boehner home.

So hoist up old John B's fail.
(Hoist up old John B's)
Tears down his orange face.
(Tears down his orange)
Call Eric Cantor, he's sure to lead us on home.
(Lead us on home.)

Lead us on home.
(Home, leads us on home.)
He'll lead us on home.
(Hoist up old John B's fail!)
(Hoist up old John B's fail!)
Well, Mitt Romney's broke up.
We'll send Boehner home.
(Send Boehner home.)

Rush Limbaugh, he caught the fits.
Pat Robertson choked on his grits.
Fox News revealed as nothing but "right-wing porn."

Lead us on home.
Yo, Cantor, lead us on home...

This is the worst vote
I've ever been on!

I shy away from commenting on partisan political parodies, but--without taking sides--I got a chuckle out of this. 555!

As for Leough. I don't even know all the names, but a lot of nice subbing to an old favorite. (Sp. internecine, typo oerhaps?) Five votes all round.
