...this was inspired by a true life incident the other day...my wife was driving down the freeway when she ran over a surfboard in her lane...no harm done to the car...but the surfboard was history...so i wrote this for the poor person who lost their surfboard that day...

got my surfboard...off for fun
placed on car but came undone

i had strapped it to my ford
snapping was this flimsy cord

as i gazed at mirror's view
i could see it creamed in two

sir Alvin, The Mighty Duke o'Roads, I love this OS . . . as it wrings my heart, Here on the norCAL Coast, out near ~Maverick's~ you will find pieces of SurfBoards lying in the middle lanes! I've never seen them hit in action, though. . . . PS: It's 1964 -- JJ is at the wheel of a '58 Olds Convertible -- 5 kids in the backseat, NO BELTS -- Roaring down Devil's Slide -- as "Surfer Joe" blasts from the chrome radio . . . . yaba . . daba . . dooo !

Loved this rendition. Never liked TOS, but these lyrics would have changed everything. Shooting a curl in the fastlane will always end up in a wipeout. 5 Bermuda's for ya.

Alvin - I would hazard a guess that surfing the super-highway is not like sufing the internet highway. Glad to hear that your vehicle went undamaged. I hit one of those orange plastic construction barrels on US 90 a few years back at 0-dark-thirty going to work in the dark at around 70 MPH. That plastic barrel was lying on it side in my lane and by the time I saw it - it was way too late. That thing went airborne for about 100 yards before it landed next to me. I was lucky - I was driving a Subaru WRX but sustained no damage. Sure glad that thing was plastic and not a 55 gallon steel drum. Hanging 10 plus 5. Well done.
