The Lyrics

Herman Cain was the name and he got his 15 of fame.
Into the campaign he came and showed us he lacked in ken.
In the year ’012 was his jive; soon forgotten—is the guy still alive?
Reincarnation did him well—
whom he came back as: I think you can tell.

The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
you must have an inkling.
The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
his lids are barely blinking.
He goes, “ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!”

How long’s this life? We’ve yet to see—relative eternity.
Dopplegänger beat Herm’s time while in reverie.
We see the guy nodding off; we barely hear him—his voice is so soft.
But soon we will see him leave the nest;
then there’ll be no need to waken. . .can get more rest.

The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
former self was zinging.
The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
this time, to sleep he’s clinging.
He goes, “ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!”

Like he who came before him, he is shirking plans.
It’s gonna be the same, we’ll see: he hasn’t got a chance.
Though he’s passed 15, he will cave, and he will not even make a wave.
He can then can then crawl back under the sheet.
He raised Herman Cain back up—too, to meet defeat.

The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
neither’s much for thinking.
The guy’s reborn, snoring this round;
Into REM he’ll be sinking.
He’ll go, “ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!”

Herman Cain has a syndicated radio talk show. He's on in the evenings in Kansas City. I get the feeling that this song is actually about another candidate who is parodied on Saturday Night live in a state of slumber. As I said before, this is not the season for moderation. Carson is a decent, soft-spoken man, who has spend his career dealing with life-and-death reality. Politics, especially in the campaign stage, is about fantasy. Trying to remake his past as some sort of gangsta didn't help either. You've posted some good stuff today.
