The Lyrics

I'ts Hallowe'en
In the mellow, warm October
We want goodies!
Wearing stupid costumes, roaming all around
For choc'lates, candy corn, Kit Kats and Mounds.
I am a kid,
I want some candy!

I am prepared
My sack is deep and roomy
For all your candy corn
Don't want any apples, apples give me gas
Lectures on nutrition are so crass.
Gimme a break,
This is a party!

Day in, day out
We hear the same baloney
We are being poisoned
Eating too much junk food, candy, cakes and pie
The party poopers think we're gonna die.
It's toxic carbs,
It's demon sugar!

They give us "treats"
But they don't look appetizing
Compliments of food Nazis
Giving "nature's candy", dried fruits are so trendy
Even broccoli and Brussels sprouts.
Nothing but schmutz,
Nothing but oysvorf!

And I hope the Great Pumpkin
Toilet papers their houses.

A tad torquey on thepacing in places, but I can sure concur with the sentiment, whether only lucy's or your own as well. As then-SNLer Adam "Crazy-Banana-Head" Sandler once said, "Gimme candy!!!" :-)

especially liked "food nazis"...had to look up "oysvorf"..this was fun

Just for the record "oysvorf" is Yiddish, derived from German "ausverf" meaning garbage. The pacing was off in the OS, so who notices?

Sir 2Ease, Great write about my favorite night! It is funny how ~JunkFood~ is the way to celebrate in the ~USA~.

What's this, a run? Paul Simon would be proud--or would he have a fit? Anyway, you started out great, but then your pacing got sloppy and threw the parody off. Also, watch how your syllables match the accents of the music. I was tempted to go into 3-ville, but I say 4-4-4.

Still running with Peanuts, I see...and doing quite well..

Picky, picky, picky. This is supposed to be humor, not serious music and the original artist sounds as if he takes himself too seriously. Yeah, I could have a field day with Peanuts. Charles Shultz deserved to live forever.

They break-a my face cause I touch-a their candy. So I'm a wear a mask but I'm a no gedda no candy. Watsamatta you?

You gedda rocks

If there were any pacing problems they were not very pronounced.

I'm-a give 5's - they canna break-a my mask if-a they doan a like.

2Eagle: I admit it: sometimes I can be a hardnose. Also, I'm an amateur arts critic and sometimes that just "spills over". Sorry if I offended you.

I'm not offended. My point is that in writing humorous songs it is alright to take some liberties in pacing and making words rhyme the way Tom Lehrer did.
