The Lyrics

Too romantic in their lies, S & G portray a false description of the Bin's True nature. They must have been paid to gloss over the nature of the Snake Pit. Perhaps they should do time in that place with a suitable label, and no longer be among the living. Then they'd not turn out such self-righteous tripe.
"And here you are, Mrs. Robinson,
A straightjacket in seclusion, Woe, Woe, woe.
Your shot is here, Mrs. Robinson,
Psychotic is the name for those who pray, heh, heh, heh,
Heh, Heh, heh."

"We shall create a sizable dossier for our wiles,
Your swift and sure erasure is our goal, (1)
In every corner, you'll see predatory eyes,
Sit in that chair until the drugs change your mind."

"You're delusional, Mrs. Robinson,
Your insurance will be sucked until it's dry, woe, woe, woe. (2)
And we shall seize, Mrs. Robinson,
All that you have is now ours to take, heh, heh, heh,
Heh, heh, heh."

"Hide what's left of your mind in a place where no one goes,
This dose is twice the size of the last,
All in secret, behind these walls, Mrs. Robinson's despair,
E.C.T and then an icepick behind the eyes." (3)

"Out of the blue, Mrs. Robinson,
Your delusions are becoming worse, Woe, Woe, Woe.
Seclusion again, Mrs. Robinson,
This time we shall choke off all your breath, Heh, Heh, heh.
Heh, heh, heh."

"Sitting vacant-minded not knowing what the day, (4)
Mesmerized by the hazy TV screen,
Mumble as you twitch, shiver and shake,
You've nothing left to lose.
No longer is it possible to choose."

"Hallucinating, Joe Dimaggio!
An old woman's corpse now belongs to you, ooh! ooh! ooh!
Rotting where she lay, Mrs. Robinson,
The medicine show has had its way, heh, heh, heh,
Heh, heh, heh."
(1) the true purpose of the Bin is to punish particular forms of deviancy. It is not - and never has been - about help. "insanity is a conscious choice made by the enemies of society with the goal of causing maximum disruption of social mores" - a very common belief, and hence the punishments described. 2) erasing people and creating obedient robots is very profitable - especially when the organisation has the law in its corner and a high-priced group of attourneys in its pockets - hence 'declare the patient 'Non Compos Mentis', aquire custodianship, and liquidate their assets completely so as to 'pay their bills' once the insurance is exhausted. 3) Freeman's version of Lobotomy: electroshock to induce unconsiousness, then an icepick-like tool to turn portions of the brain into non-functioning mush. Quick, effective, and profitable for the doctor doing the procedure. 4) 'Cured' - a non-functioning zombie, courtesy of a year's psychiatric treatment ending in a botched lobotomy. She's still taking a vast amount of drugs so as to silence her utterly - and in the end, permanently. (See PDR for the side effects of drugs like Thorazine. 'Sudden death' is one of them.)
