The Lyrics

BattleStar Galactica - Season Two starts July 15th.
Now on Sci-Fi, a new trend
It's got a space, soap-opera blend
With combat vipers that go blasting
Action scenes are not long lasting
And their cities, I'll be candid, frank and plain
None remain
Cause they were found by Cylons

While fleeing death, they jump through space
True to form, Cylon's give chase
Meanwhile Helo's on Caprica
Life is hard on board the Galactica
But the crew is tired should they run at the speed of light?
Or should they fight?
They still get found by Cylons

I see they changed the cast with Lorne
That Starbuck took on female form
Find it hard need more convincing
No discipline, much rule dispensing,
People flying ships that handle like there's air
I say beware
Or they'll be found by Cylons

Rules that I just do not know
Cylons hatred of man grows
Call a truce that they might meet you
Sneak ambush that they might beat you
Eighty-sixed by number six I'd say
Run away
If you're found by Cylons

Now they start their search for earth
And they stress the need for birth
As my spouse cries out, 'It's boring!'
Needs more plot, more schemes, more warring
Such a critic, her vote is both thumbs down
And sadly the first season's through
Soon show season two
Want to bet that they're found by Cylons

Don't worry about ole Starbuck, he's making millions off his coffee business :-)

Haven't seen the new series, and I don't think I want to...but this is fun. 555

1978, robots: Cylons are silver. 2004, Tricia Helfer: Cylons is golden. Wonder if there's a "Helfer" parody to "Help Me Rhonda" out there somewhere? As for whether the Mrs. is right, let me put it this way: This new series may be good, but it's not "Battlestar Galactica" any more than Steve Garvey and Orel Hershiser were Brooklyn Dodgers. Just because some of the names and the most basic of plots have been revived, doesn't mean it's comparable to the original. We must judge them separately.

"People flying ships that handle like there's air" ... so true in so much sci-fi ! That was one of the really cool things about "2001: A Space Odyssey" --- appropriate silence in the vacuum of space.

"2001"... In space, no one can hear you scream, "This movie is so f---ing boring! How can a movie that takes us into space take so long to go nowhere? Kubrick ain't no genius!" With apologies to Peter Andersson.
