The Lyrics

This parody was inspired by how my life was over 6 years ago, when I was in the grips of alcoholism and dealing with the consequences that came from it. I have heard the sounds of sirens 3 times in my life. I am proud to say that I have not heard them in over six years because I have been clean and sober.
The Sound of Sirens

Getting drunk with my old friends
It's time to drive home once again
Although my BAC is way to high
And they say it isn't safe to drive
Depth perception is distorted in my brain
What a pain
I hear the sound of sirens

So many times I drank alone
Through narrow streets tried to drive home
'Neath the soft light of a street lamp
I puked my guts out in the cold and damp
When to my surprise, I saw the flash of a police light
Was such a fright
I heard the sound of sirens

And in the blurry light I saw
Ten thousand cop cars maybe more
People staring while they were tweeting
I was passed out at the eighth precinct
Seems I collided into the police parking lot
Where I got caught
Within the sounds of sirens

Into this tube you now must blow
And straight to jail you likely go
Hear my slurs so that I might reach you
Call my lawyer, post my bail won't you?
For my tears, like silent raindrops fell
My regrets of the sounds of sirens

In the court I bowed and prayed
An ass of myself I have made
And the Judge gave out his ruling
Wake up you shmuck, for you are droolling
And the judge said, "I don't want to hear about you driving drunk again."
Off to the pen,
And now theres wimpers, and the sound of crying.
Please heed my warnings and DON"T drink and drive!

I once tried to drive after drinking, scared the hell out of me. Lucky that night. Next time I sat in a library for about four hours before attempting to drive the two blocks to where I was living. After that, no more booze. Don't like the taste, don't like the effect. Glad to see you at AIR after a long absence. Remember, you are always welcome to scan my output to see if you can use anything.

Like the way you rhymed "tweeting" and "precinct". I know you actually sing your parodies, which accounts for the quality of your pacing and rhymes. This would be a good practice for other parody writers to adopt.
