Heck, it's progress, that's the trend,
But dumb I talk so I abstain,
And thoughts came to me slowly creeping,
Left an idea while sleeping,
And these thoughts that have been ingrained in my brain,
I'll obtain
Don't like my sound of silence.

To proper place I walk alone
Shared my secrets made of stone.
Midst the hails of all street tramps,
I turned my collar 'gainst the old man pimp.
And the night was lit by the flash caused by screaming lights.
They hit the night.
There goes my little silence.

What headache sights and sounds I saw.
Saw many people who did roar.
People talking and they're shrieking.
Hands over ears, I won't listen.
I will just write my 'songs' but I refuse to share,
See, no one dares,
Break my little silence.

People remain what they know
I don't tell, don't want to know.
Don't want my words, do what they choose,
They have their right just like I do.
So my cares like gentle raindrops well,
And beckoned
To the halls of silence.

Now my silence is an aide,
Since not dumb I have it made.
Don't speak to me in the morning,
You might find in me some storming.
So the sign on my cup says, "Put coffee
Down, move slowly back down the hall."
And that says it all.
Please whisper, give me sounds of silence.
