Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Well I saw this sleigh
Falling out of the sky
It was packed with gifts
And one big guy
Oh, but what was pulling
Alone at the lead?
It looked like a
Cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer to me

It was a bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
A bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
A bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Falling through the trees
(Cross-eyed reindeer?)

Well he crashed down to earth
Almost on top of me
I said Mr. Santa Claus
Your reindeer can not see
I hear him say Christmas sure is tough
My other deer left
They'd had enough!

They hate this bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
This bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
This bug-eyed, half-blind
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
So they all left me
(Half-blind reindeer?)

I said Mr. Santa Claus
Your reindeer numbered nine
Isn't that how you could get those
Presents here on time
He said in past seasons
That had been the plan
But I guess nowadays
I'm a 'one reindeer man'

We leave the pole, chew my Skoal
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Nose that glows, heavy loads
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Kids leave cookies!
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Presents for the tree
(Bug-eyed reindeer?)

Well then he crawled from his sleigh
Yeah, and without a sound
Well he grabbed from his sack
A new cozy night gown
It was all wrapped up pretty
Would be Christmas soon
Course, I was going to sleep in
Till half-past noon

They lied or stole? Leave 'em coal
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Present load, Wrapped and bowed
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
I like egg nog
Flying cross-eyed red-nosed reindeer
Don't let kiddies see
(Red-nosed reindeer?)

Well he checked out his sleigh
Embedded in the snow
With only one deer
It really goes slow
And when weighed down with gifts
Faster to walk instead
Saying next year at Christmas
We'll both just stay in bed

Horn solo

'Poor Kiddies!'

I have done this OS, and know how much work you had to put into this, and you did an excelent job! I'm impressed!!! Combining the holidays is something I like best, this is amazing! What can I say other than, good job

That explains what happened to that grandma... And I just though of something: Does the presence of Rudolph make the North Pole a red-light district?

(SOTM) Lots and lots of songs have been written about newly-added reindeers or other modes of transportation for Santa. This one was one of the funniest I've encountered.

(SOTM) Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! I loved it... Many of those lyrics can twist your tongue, and that makes it all the more funnier. 555 cookies for you, and a glass of milk!

SOTM-Quite intreguing, you took a Halloween song, and made it a Christmas one. . .Inverse in it's own right, and light hearted comedy. All the sudden my eyes are looking at each other, better get off this thread.

SOTM - Strange, but I like strange! :-)

(SOTM) See above, and extra credit for using this most difficult OS as the vehicle for your parody.

(SOTM) yes, this is a difficult OS to parody, because there's so much rhyming in it, but if you're up to it (and vary the choruses) like you are (and did) Tim, the results are magical - some great wordplay here - 555
Kristof Robertson - January 29, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) This is just brilliantly nutso, Tim. I always enjoy a totally original take on a Christmas parody, and I don't think I've seen one as singular as this! 555+

Good use of an annoying song. Let's all just stay in bed for that matter. Did you know that you can improve the wisdom of any fortune cookie if you add the phrase 'in bed' to the end of whatever it says?

SOTM - I think we've finally determined which reindeer ran over Grandma.
