Song Parodies -> "If You're Going To Strip Alfresco"

Original Song Title:

"If You're Going To San Francisco"

Original Performer:

Scott McKenzie

Parody Song Title:

"If You're Going To Strip Alfresco"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

The original song's full title is "San Francisco (Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair)" but the submission form does not accept that length, hence I have adjusted that to the popular belief and my own working title "Strip alfresco (Be sure to have a painter very near)" to what can be read above. As for "alfresco" it means approximately "outside" and/or "in the fresh air". But enough of me ranting, it's time to paint you a picture...
If you're going to strip alfresco
Be sure to have a painter very near
If you do not when stripped alfresco
You're gonna hear judgmental people swear

Hear, those who plan to strip alfresco
Summertime will be the time of year
In the streets, don't strip alfresco
Mental people will cop a feel your rear

All's fair in creation
If it's your vocation
Painter's devotion

There's a whole occupation
With an art vindication
Painter's devotion - Painter's commotion

Hear, those who plan to strip alfresco
Be sure to have some rhubarb leaflets near
If you're going to strip alfresco
Summertime will please your derriere

If you're going to strip alfresco
Summertime will be the best, I swear

Who is this guy, Al Fresco, and why are you stripping him? Oh, that's right, to get fives like this one.

title of the day

Yep, I remembered TOS immediately after d/l the MP3. Although I'm used to pronouncing "near" as "neer" saying it as "nair" to make the rhyme with "swear" was fun. Anyway, liked the 'cop a feel' and 'rhubarb leaflets' lines.

Thanks Michael, Alvin and Red Ant. Jack, with my pronunciation the rhyme is more like "neer"/"sweer". ;-)

(SOTM) So that's a regular occurrance (or however the hell you spell that word) in your home country, K1chyd? Oh, those randy Swedes...=)

SOTM-paint stripping can damage values.
bobpiecheese - February 10, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Any idiot who strips outdoors (or alfresco as you put it) deserves to get sweared at and get their arse and naughty bits sizzled by the summertime sun. Hang on, I've heard that in the Northern Hemisphere, it snows in summer. Am I right? Or not? Please tell me.
Red Ant - February 11, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Near/sweer huh? Okay, that works too, and what Red Ant said. To answer bobpiecheese's question, it is about 95*/95% humidity in the summertime here.
