The Lyrics

This is about just one of the many benefits of owning a dog. Please give a listen to my rendition from the AmiRight home page or, at this link:http://www.soundclick.com/updateband/SongInfo.cfm?BandID=322836&Updated=2751338
I don't think I can hold it any more

Oh, I've tried to keep it in
But, in secret, I break wind
And soon the paint is peeling off the door

Tears are forming in her eyes
She frowns at me
"It's him!" I lie
Thank God, the dog is near me on the floor!

"It's Rover!"

Her face is turning blue
It's quite a lovely hue
Our love is just too new
What else can I do but cry, "Pee-ew!"

"Pee-ew-ew-ew!"

"Pee-ew-ew!"

"It's Rover!"
"It's Rover!"
"It's Rover!"

It's a good thing he can't speak
He'd deny my one-cheek sneak
My baby might not like me any more

So, poor Rover takes the fall
The cat high-tails it down the hall
The next one shakes some pictures from the wall

"It's Rover!"
"It's Rover!"
"It's Rover!"

"IT'S ROVER!"

Hmm, it only lets me vote once... Oh well, you did an excellent job on the recording. (I did speed it up 30% so it had more of a Roy Orbison sound.) 5's

Yeah, I had to drop the key by two whole steps so I could hit the final note. Thanks, Tim.

Staying with some friends a few days here on vacation. Let me tell you, in this place, it's DEFINITELY the DOG! She's 14+ years old and doing really well all things considered, but...EEEWWW...sometimes...they love her still, though...5's ~ ~~

(ABC) Hilarious!! My favorite part, out of many, "The cat high-tails it down the hall". Good voice, Rick! 5's

Thank you, Adagio. I always appreciate your comments.

Poor little puppy... Although this was very good, I had to dock you a point for blaming the dog. Of course, with the dogs I've had, you could've gotten away with it.

Thanks, Michael.

(SOTM) Quality recording but I can't say the OS really tickled my fancy. Fine rhyming and humour, Rick.
Rick C - September 12, 2005 - Report this comment
Thank you, Arwen, Agrimorfee, Adagio, Larry and Luke. Larry, I noticed you wrote in DKTOS. I included a link to the OS lyrics as well as a recording of this parody to give those who DKTOS an idea of how the OS goes.

SOTM-VERY funny parody, and you have a good voice (assuming that's you singing in the parody)

Thank you Emi and Dominic L. Yes, Dominic, that's me.
John Jenkins - September 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Very well matched to the original, Rick, particularly, of course, the "Rover" and " "Pew-ew-ew" lines.
Red Ant - September 20, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I had to access this through your author page instead of the link. Excellent recording and parody Rick.
Peter Andersson - September 23, 2005 - Report this comment
SOTM - If MP is really docking you a point for blaming the dog, doesn't that make him a fartdocker? (Just thinking out loud here). :-)
Phil Alexander - September 24, 2005 - Report this comment
DKTOS, but I've heard the parody recording - funny stuff, Rick.
Spaff.com - September 26, 2005 - Report this comment
You know I love this. I'm sure I've commented on it before - musta been on the recordings page. Fave line: "It's quite a lovely hue." TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T LISTENED TO RICK'S RECORDING: GO DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT THIS INSTANT. Oh, and I gotta say that the vocalist you got for this one is waaaay better than that slob who sang "She's Sick of Me, I'm Sick of Her."
Adam Eccleshall - September 27, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Very funny song, if somewhat evil towards the poor dog :-)

Heh heh, my grandma used to do that. Nicely done, but I can't remember my soundclick password so I'll listen to it later (honest).

Okay, the recording kicks ass. But didn't they used to have a comments section there? I couldn't find it. Great job though.

(SOTM) I get no respect. In my house, the dog farts and blames it on me! Great stuff.

Thanks for listening and commenting here Claude. Thanks Rex.

SOTM. Can't believe I didn't comment here before. I know I commented on the song recording comments page. Superb parody and recording, top marks for doing Orbison vocals so well....an impossible task that you pulled off flawlessly.
