Original Song Title:

"She's A Rainbow"

Original Performer:

Rolling Stones

Parody Song Title:

"They Are Cicadas"

Parody Written by:

Steve Kalafut

The Lyrics

After 17 years, they're baaaack.
Looks like they've come back again
They are Brood Ten
They are cicadas
See them flying through the air
They're everywhere
And they have come back

Looks like they've come back again
They are Brood Ten
They are cicadas
See them flying through the air
They're everywhere
And they have come back

Have you seen them on the ground?
Hear them buzzing all around
It's an eerie high-pitched noise
From cicada girls and boys
Sounds just like a Star Trek phaser

Looks like they've come back again
They are Brood Ten
They are cicadas
See them flying through the air
They're everywhere
And they have come back

Have you learned what you were told?
They are seventeen years old
They are looking all around
And before the sun goes down
Each one tries to find a partner

Looks like they've come back again
They are Brood Ten
They are cicadas
See them flying through the air
They're everywhere
And they have come back

[intersperse with piano solos]

Steve, I hate to admit I don't know this Rolling Stones song, but your lyrics are great.

Very good!

Original song is on "Their Satanic Majesties Request", the Stones' most underrated album. This was funny, although I have no idea what is meant by Brood Ten. 555

Pacing would have been perfect, if the first line of the chorus was "Looks like they have come back again," which has the same # of sylables as "She comes in colors everywhere." Yours has a sylable too few. Very nice though, great song choice!
