Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This is my response to Natalie of the Dixie Chicks who found it necessary to use the stage as a place to make disparaging remarks about her president, and then tried to apologize later......
It's too late for your retraction
For your foot from mouth extraction
Feeble try, feeble try, I don't buy, I don't buy
It's too late for, it's too late for

When you said you were ashamed
To be from Texas like the President
Well you should well be ashamed
Of the inappropriate things you said
You're ungrateful for success you've had
It's too late for, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what I say

It's too late for your retraction
For your foot from mouth extraction
Feeble try, feeble try, feeble try, feeble try
It's too late for, it's too late for....

When I'm watching my TV
And I hear your lame apology
Well I know you're not sincere
And I never again wish to hear
your hog-callin' songs grating on my ear
It's too late for, oh no no no
Get away, that's what I say

It's too late for your retraction
For your foot from mouth extraction
I don't buy, I don't buy, I don't buy, I don't buy
It's too late for, it's too late for

When I'm drivin' in my car
And the man comes on the radio
And says "We are sorry, folks,
We don't play the Dixie Chicks no mo"
I say, good for you, now, way to go

It's too late for, it's too late for
Your retraction, your retraction, your retraction

Royce, Oh, you're not going to like what I said about "W" on Jeff Reuben's parody of "Wide-Open Spaces". I couldn't vote on this because I am just too angry at Bush to be fair to this work. At least you didn't use one of their own songs. Maybe after "Boy George" is out of office (January, 2005, I'm sincerely hoping). But you don't have to worry about a "lame" retraction from me. There wasn't anything I said that I didn't mean right now and won't stand behind tomorrow. You're welcome to refute anything I said, and if you can actually prove any of it, rather than just backing that nasty, dismal, untruthful, spoiled child out of some regional pride I'd be glad to see it in black & white.
