I see the White House and there’s just no turning back
No color anymore our president is black
I see the Bush walk out dressed in a cloak of shame
I know the next guy in can’t ever be as lame

I saw a million march and they were mostly black
The flower children came and said “We got your back”
I saw people change their heads and get with MLK
Any new idea takes forever and a day

I look where we have been and see a lot of change
I see that marriage between women ain’t that strange
Maybe then faiths will merge and not have to face attacks
It’s a little easier now our top man is black

No more will history say “We’ve excluded YOU”
But for Hillary and John I guess this could be true
If we work hard enough into the next four years
We’ll live and laugh again and overcome the fears
