The Lyrics

Resubmitting this cos I didn't allow comments first time

A UK song about the "misselling"(appalling euphemism for downright fraud in many cases!!) of financial products such as personal pension plans and endowment mortgages (AVCs are a pension top up) which were sold mainly to make commission for the salesman rather than a good deal for the saver.....
Don't blame those charts
I know you lied to me
You knew that script off by heart
You gave me a guarantee

You told me I'd be payin' off my mortgage loan
Not that I'd be payin' for your second home
Don't blame those charts
You cheated me

Don't blame those charts
The worst is yet to come
You really had no heart
And I was just so dumb

You said that personal pensions plans were all the rage
Not that I was shellin' out for your old age

Don't blame those charts
you cheated me

I was under your spell
Like I was lost in a trance baby
But you knew it oh so well
That I didn't stand a chance

Don't blame those charts
I know you lied to me
You sure played your part
When you sold me AVCs

I was so naļ¶„ that I got conned again
all along you tried to make me think you were my friend

Don't blame those charts
you cheated me

I was under your spell
Like I was lost in a trance
But you knew it oh so well
That I didn't stand a chance

Don't blame those charts
It's only just begun
My claims are gonna start
I'll keep them rollin till I've won

You know you sold me all those dodgy savings plans
But now I'm getting even with the Ombudsman

Don't blame those charts
You cheated me

I watched 'Dogwoman' yesterday, starring Aussie icon Magda Szubanski, where we find out the murder victim had conned the elderly with a plan where they could only get their money after a 30-year period. This was a fine kick in the shins for such crooks.

Excellent spoof of a deserving topic, with a clever title and clever lines such as the "loan/home" and rage/age" couplets.
