The Lyrics

I'm on a cartoon kick lately. See link below for original songs.
She was a girl that could fit through a plastic straw
He used to say "I yam what I yam"
(You know he did, you know he did, you know he did)
And in this silly cartoon world in which they live in
You can watch the fur fly

Olive and Popeye (crash, crash)
('Live and Popeye)
Olive and Popeye (crash, crash)
('Live and Popeye)

His squinty eye sees through ya
Now he's got some ass to kick
He's does the spinach sell
And then he gives that poor old Bluto HELLLLL!

(Fighting and grunting under the breath noise)

(Sing this first line over the cello part)

He was a guy with a chin that looks like a butt
She used to say "Oh, my oh my!"
(You know she hid, you know she did, you know she did)
But in this Fleisher cartoon world in which they live in
You can see the fists fly

Olive and Popeye (crash, crash)
('Live and Popeye)
Olive and Popeye (crash, crash)
('Live and Popeye)

I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a parody today...so you gonna do all the former Beatles songs now? Oh, and hey, I listened to the song you linked to the other day (not the two today tho; too much hard work to register)--you guys sound great! Kind of a Lovin' Spoonful vibe I thought on that song. Anyway, I'm kind of in lurk mode right now but just thought I'd pop in. Oh and I see you had your first "hit"; congrats. Now you just need to recruit your own personal voting bloc and you'll be all set. See ya

How do you go about recruiting a voting bloc? Is that how it's done? Thanks Claude. Let me know when you're done lurking. (Now I'm lurking my way back to you, Babe.......)

Actually, I probably shouldn't have said that. It's traditionally okay to let friends and family know about this place and if they happen to throw some votes your way, there's nothing wrong with that. It's generally considered good for the site (William Tong has his own site and sends lots of voters over, as I understand it) It seems petty to care too much about the top ten list but the reality is that a song that makes the list gets a lot more exposure and it can really snowball if it's on there awhile; my rule of thumb is it's okay to *invite* people to check out my stuff (I never mention voting) but I wouldn't ask it as a favor (as Phil says, he values his friends more than that) So far I've told three people for a grand total of one vote. Bottom line is it's getting more and more like steroids; I can foresee a day when you'll pretty much have to if you want to compete. Sorry about the long post; it's just it took me awhile to figure it out for myself and thought I'd save you the trouble. Okay, I think I'm really gonna go back to lurking now.

You answered my question too, Claude. Very good song, Rick.
