Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I will double down on myths and fairly tales—
what’s true is what I deem it to be.
“Bunk” is your obloquy;
you deem them as “schemes.”
I’ve anointed them as facts not memes

You may call them “fake,” but I’m a believer.
You’ll never shake these thoughts from my mind.
“Truth” I’ve dubbed them, I’m a believer—
You say “deceiver,” claim I’ve lied.

Guys say that I’m just one of the fibbin’ kings—
up the stuff is made they tell me, junk.
All a goof, I’m lyin’,
lies are my domain,
but the stuff ain’t gonna leave my brain.

You may call it “fake,” I’m a believer .
You’ll never shake these thoughts from my kind
“Truth” I’ve dubbed it, I’m a believer—
you say “deceiver,” that’s YOUR side.

You say not half-baked…an all-out deceiver.
That’s a mistake, you’ve misread by mind:
I’m engulfed not in deceiving
but in believing magic’s kind.

I’m a true believer, magical thinking,
a true believer.
I’m a true believer, not a deceiver,
magic believer.

The only thing missing is Mickey's "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" during the last chorus. Excellent work for a not often parodied song!

I know someone who thinks that visualization is the key to making things happen, and that bad things occur only because I believe they will. This would imply that I control the weather and the availability of parking in crowded venues and at popular times of the day. Hasn't worked yet. Do you know how much money I could make if it did?

Jerry, it's NOT a lie... if you believe it.

If you tell a lie and you know the guy you're telling it too knows that it's not true, is it really a lie? Actually, you should always tell the truth because some day you may need to tell a big whopper and be believed.

All I can say, Patrick, is a quote attributed to Dr. Bob Jones, Sr., and no doubt others, too: "It is never right, to do wrong, to do right". Besides, once somebody tells a lie, where will they stop?
