The Lyrics

All I am trying to do here is take the opposite of Merle Haggard's song. I do not personally identify as a hippie, nor do I advocate "burning old glory" even if to protest racism. I also wont burn my draft card down on main street either. I also wasn't around in the 60's. Im just writing about the hippies point of view. (I just hope that one line doesn't offend anyone, and I apologize if it does.)
I like to smoke marijuana from my stogie
I like to take my trips on LSD
We go burn our draft cards down on Main Street
We like bein' right, and lovin' free
We always make a party out of lovin'
We like holdin' hands and sharing too
We don't cut our hair like they do in the military
Like the rednecks out in Alabama do
I'm proud to be an Hippie with a stogie
A peace where even squares can have a ball
We will burn Old Glory down at the courthouse,
where “white’s only” still the biggest sign on the wall
Leather sandals are still in style for manly footwear
Beads and Roman sandals are my thing
Football's still the sexist thing on campus
And the kids here don’t respect the fascist dean
And I'm proud to be a hippie with a stogie
A peace where even squares can have a ball.
We will burn Old Glory down at the courthouse
where “white’s only” still the biggest sign on the wall
where “white’s only” still the biggest sign on the wall
with my stogie, in the 60’s, USA.

I like the "white's only" sign concept, but there seems to be one or two more syllables than the original. Same for the military haircuts line. You might try matching up your parodies with a youtube video of the original song. When you get good at it, you'll be able to "hear" the original artist "sing" your version.

Maybe I'm being a grammar nag, but the correct rendition should be "Whites Only" or "WHITES ONLY" as it would have been printed. "White's" is a possessive.

T'was actually recorded as "White Lightnin's' (a contempory 90 proof 'shine,) still the biggest thrill of all. "And who could forget that risque riff ". . . that's where even squares (pause,). . . ball."
