The Lyrics

If you're old enough to know what the title of this song is, then :). If you're not, then this is how the other half lived :)
Fashion of today
Compares in no way to tie-dye
Wearing platform shoes
Always gave me blues; not tie-dye

You pick a white tee-shirt
And you clamp it together
Find fasteners to fetter
Of string or leather
A bucket’s a good start
Then add in measured parts some fine dye

Water’s needed too
To make the next move with tie-dye (tie-dye)
Watch the world go by
Whilst soaking in that dye while time flies (time flies, time flies, time flies)

I’ll wear tie-dye and then I’m gonna
Light my far-out lamp of lava
My Hi-Fi’s receiving
Some Grate-ful Dead keening (so high)

As a psychadelic statement I think my top’s
A one of a kind you won’t see at the shop
As I patter down street, looks I attract
Pattern reveals that I’m really well stacked

It must’ve began
In sixties, man; that tie-dye (tie-dye)
It’s art embraced
There sure ain’t no disgrace in tie-dye (tie-dye, tie-dye, tie-dye)
Cliches like “I am groovy” are
Correct; and as for feeling trippy, yee-ha!
There's circles bein’ portayed
Pers-on-al-ly displayed, of tie-dye

Said Neil Armstrong
Shoulda took ‘long some tie-dye (tie-dye)
On Moony’s face
Would he have looked real ace in tie-dye! (tie-dye, tie-dye, tie-dye)
He would have been a lunar star
But trendy doesn’t equal NASA; We are
Still being tracked to this day
By men from C.I.A. (on the sly!)

(C.I.A.?)
Clothes are so bland today
We shouldn’ve strayed far away from tie-dye
(That we wore)
No fashions can today
Compare with chic displays of tie-dye

Urban legend: When Armstrong stepped down on the moon, he muttered, "Have fun, Mrs. Grimalsky". Story is that when he was a kid, he heard the neighbors quarreling, with woman shouting, "You'll get oral s*x when the kid next door walks on the moon!"... Great title switch, well-stacked song, loved visualizing those personally-displayed circles.Average age of those commenting on this song: 55.5.

Always have liked tie-dye - I made a great T-shirt at camp when I was a kid and i wore it to a rag. I will now definitely have to make another tie-dye item of clothing. Great parody.

Once had parti-colored full body stains from making tie-dyed shirts, shorts, socks, headbands ... and wearing'em while still wet. WHo sez smoking and dying go together? :-) Oh well, here's some high 5s.
