The Lyrics

Mother Goose Was on the Booze While Writing Tales And Stories

Ooooh...
Mother Goose was on the booze while writing tales and stories
Even though I hesitate to denigrate her glories
Think she might have slipped a nip into her hot peas porridge
Mother Goose was on the booze while writing tales and stories

Hey diddle diddle cat an’ a fiddle high
Hey diddle diddle cat an’ a fiddle high
Hey diddle diddle cat an’ a fiddle high
Hey diddle diddle cat an’ a fiddle high

I offer a unique critique
Ms. Goose was somewhat mad
She must have gave her nose a tweak
Wrote stories oh so rad
A cow that flys, it's quite absurd
High o’er the moon he goes
Her fav'rite word was “high” I’ve heard
The blow went up her nose, Oh!

Mother Goose fought drug abuse while spinning yarns and verses
Silly goose she busted loose, a fit of rhyming curses
Brothers Grimm stay 'way from them, they're ever more the worsest
Mother Goose fought drug abuse while spinning yarns and verses

Oh diddle diddle dumplin' oh diddle my!
Oh diddle diddle dumplin' oh diddle my!
Oh diddle diddle dumplin' oh diddle my!
Oh diddle diddle dumplin' oh diddle my!

They say she does around the world
With many handsome gents
Her appetite insatiable
Leaves all her gent friends spent
Smoked medi-marijuana, puffed the
Days away and wrote
And came up with such clever gems
As "Do Your Ears Hang Low" Oh!

Mother Goose was on the doobs while penning rhymes and verses
Judging by some titles could there be things more perverse, yes
After she’d smoked quite enough they had to call the nurses
Mother Goose was on the doobs while penning rhymes and verses

Um Peter Peter punkin yum eater pie
Um Peter Peter punkin yum eater pie
Um Peter Peter punkin yum eater pie
Um Peter Peter punkin yum eater pie

For sure Mother Goose was adored though
Just for helping moms entertain their children for a little spell
But she partied a bit too hard, don’t we think?
So scandalously!

Talk of "fidd-ling" and of "didd-ling"
Is cause for much dismay
“The Muffin Man” you know
And there’s “In Spring I Look So Gay”
Better not read “Four Stiff-Standers”
Or "Bum Bum Bailey O!"
(Um, for example…yes?)
Don't say "I Love Little Pussy"
Or "Peep" at "Little Bo"
(And a lovely thing she was too, hehehe)

Ooooh...
Mother Goose please spread the news she partied and she'd pander
Even though she wrote kids’ rhymes she'd rather do a gander
Quite the social loosie goose she really did meander
Mother Goose please spread the news she partied and she'd pander!

Welcome to the "Poppins' club, blackjack, and what a wonderful chapter you've written(chapter 555, to be exact)!

Blackjack - he is no hack! This parody is keen! And with this lastest offering, three more 5s he did glean! ;D

This is the third Supercalifragilisticexpialidocius parody I have ever read! This explains why I act so crazy for the past few days! That's because that I'm so crazy about this song, that's why! "Supercalifragilistically" awesome parody, and I still dig Mother Goose! Here's 5 Fiddles, 5 Peter Pumpkin Pies, and 5 Sheep from Little Bo-Peep! Great OS, perfect to parody Mother Goose on!
Fiddlegirl - July 24, 2009 - Report this comment
And let's not even get INTO "3 Men in a Tub"-- Mercy! ;)

Really funny n' unique take on the OS and the here-to-lore under-parodied subject... it would appear you're a Goose cannon!

Mark Scotti: Thanks for the Poppins membership card, where can I get more info on the "Big 7" parodies?

Old Man Ribber: Mighty Spratly of you to glean me fives, Jack. ;-D

Christie Marie M: Well I'm crazy about your comments, thanks for all the goodies.

Fiddlegirl: I would NOT get into a tub with 3 other men. ;-)

TJC: I like being called funny n' unique, thanks. Mother Goose will be cannonballed when this comes out. ;-P

great title and execution

I too always thought that these "nursery rhymes" were terribly stupid things to tell children. Thanks for the explanation of why! 555 for excellently executed "crack" at one of the B7. If you were asking about the titles of the others, (IMHO)
American Pie
Blinded By The Light
I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General
MacArthur Park (?)
My Favorite Things The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald

I don't subscribe to the "Bohemian Rhapsody" school of thought.... anyway, most of us who've written up somewhere in the hundreds have hit most of the above, sometimes several times. .. and welcome!

"I Love Goosey" and you did this with a very humorous vengeance..

alvin, Tommy Turtle, AFW: Appreciate the comments, thanks a lot.

TT, thanks for the B7 list. I'll probably take a crack at them sooner or later. Too bad about Bo Rap, I've already done that one. :-) Also would have thought 'One Week' from Barenaked Ladies might be on there. (but glad it's not) :D

Probably my favorite parody from you. Lots of awesome rhymes, particularly in the choruses. 555.
TT - July 25, 2009 - Report this comment
I didn't mean you shouldn't parody BoRap, just that I'm not among those who consider it a requirement for "senior membership" or whatever. Some peeps put that one in and leave out MacPark, which IMHO is one of the most pretentious OSs ever, badly in need of trashing :).

Needless to say, there's no charge if you care to peruse this writer's stabs at AP, BBTL (NSFW?), MajGen (2), MacPark, Fave Things (2) TWOTEF (2), and, of course, Supercal (x4). Cheers.

Correction on my previous comment: This is actually the fourth parody I've ever read of Super, I forgot that I responded to Fiddlegirl's version the other day.

Silver Power: Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. Glad you liked it.

TT: I knew what you meant. :-) I was just saying that I'd have BoRap out of the way if it was one of the 7. Mac Park? I don't think that I can take it. ;-)

"Mac Park? I don't think that I can take it. ;-)"

It won't take too long to rake it
And won't ever have to parody again!
So, go!

OK, ya twisted my arm, so *one* plug only, to maybe give you some ideas:
