Song Parodies -> "The Quite Possible Dream"

Original Song Title:

"The Impossible Dream"

Parody Song Title:

"The Quite Possible Dream"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

Dedicated to AmIRighter Dee Range, and to her sister, Patty Barker, who is presently fighting this fight. Written double-digit years ago for a friend of the author, and that friend is still alive and kickin'. OS lyrics here. MIDI here.
To dream the "impossible" dream
To fight the malignancy growth
To bear the unbearable symptoms
To live, despite either or both!

To heal the "unhealable" case
To cure the "incurable" ill
To try when your stomach is weary
To gulp the ungulpable pill

This is my quest:
Get rid of that mass!
No matter how stubborn;
No matter how vast
To fight for my health
Without question or pause
To be willing to stand anything for this challenging cause!

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That one day, I'll be healthy and strong
And be back to my best

And then I will be better for this
That one soul with unbreakable will
Still strove, with a vast trove of courage
To heal the "unhealable" ill!

Go for it, Patty! © 2006 Tommy Turtle.

Don't know the song, but you get 555s. Well written about something difficult to go through.

Thanks, Stephen. Broadway musical, then movie, before your time, I guess.

What a wonderful song, TT. I hope that it helps Patty with her fight... PD

I voted five's because of the high sensitivity you showed here. It had me in tears. I'm sure that Patty will love it and benefit from the support shown. Do you mind me printing it out? I would like to for me..I have cancer too, a slow-acting leukemia, and not anywhere as in need of support as Patty's is.

Wonderfully written, Tommy. Again, our thanks for the inspiration. And Adagio, good luck in your struggle, also. My prayers are with you too.

Paree Dee, thanks...
Adagio, please feel free to copy and print for any such personal, non-commercial use (my lawyer made me put "non-commercial" in there - you know how they are, she wants the copyright in there as well - gotta earn her $250/hr.) Did you see the info about alternatives that was offered to Dee? Under HIS great song, "Trailer Park Trash". You might find something of interest in that thread. Prayers, wishes, support, thoughts, and love to you also.
Dee R., thanks, my pleasure. Bring us good news very soon!

Thanks Tommy...will even print out copyright (gotta watch the typos this time). I saw the alternatives, and thanks...that should be a good source. Thanks Dee, I think right now your sister would be in my prayers, which she is. I only commented because it moved me so much.

Adagio, my pleaseure... and yes, have met some who have halted/reversed leukemia as well. (Establishment docs would call that only "remission" - their term for a cure of something that their methods cannot cure.)
