Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Ever since I read Patrick McWilliams parody about cloning (Army of Sixty Nine), I've wanted to do my own take on human replication. So here 'tis. And thanks Patrick.
My wife cloned me
She took my cells and my D-N-A
My wife cloned me
She said she needs more me everyday

Now she’s working number two
He helps, cleans, and makes soufflés
And cheesy fries and cocktails too
Home now seems very strange, so

Wife’s still cloning
She felt a third would be better fit
Yes, she cloned me
Now I abound, I’m in triplicate

And three, he sews on appliqué
He loves Lifetime movies, too
And now, he’s learned macramé
Likes Judy Garland, too.

Then four and five, scrubbed filthy tub
I freaked when I saw twenty-three
And said, “Oh my!” to forty-one
Then hundred got the better of me

I don’t know which one is me
I know that I’m sick of him
And doc tells me in therapy
“Mind if I borrow them?”

I don’t like me hangin’ round
My wife, she’s insane you see
I plead, “Babe, I’m your number one!”
“No sir, you’re fifty-three”

I’m done, and I want to be one
Not three or be many of me
Never imitated, and never duplicated- The Blogging Baker.

Amiright Episode II. So which one do I give the fives to?
Patrick - February 18, 2011 - Report this comment
Thanks for the plug. Your wife got better use out of her clones than I ever did with mine. Must have had better material to work with. I think I figured out the problem, I was supposed to start with my "genes", not my "jeans". Reminds me of an episode of the "Simpsons" where someone created a horde of Homers. If you like cloning songs, go back and check on my previous endeavors, I find it a useful theme to repeat.

Michael- You can set 'em right next to me. No, not that one, the one next to the... yeah, that one...

Patrick- Not gushing here, but really liked your approach to the Adams song. It helps I'm a bit partial to scifi and off the wall concepts. It also got me thinking about taking a shot at "Summer of 69" myself. I want to call it "The Battle of Sixty Mimes," but I'm not sure what to say. Help yourself, if you're up for it.

My stupid clone accompanies me everywhere. It's unnerving. I'm beside myself.

555, because you did the same for me.

TS- Reminds me of TMBG's "My Evil Twin." Look it up and give it spin or play or whatever the technology is these days.
Dolly- Well hello! Thanks for the comment and v/c!
Otto- Thanks Mr. Matic. Your votes completely bypassed my ego and went straight to my id.

Hilarious! ... OMR dragged me here to read and comment @ Otto Voter's parody, but being both a fan of Gore -- Lesley, not Al ;) ;) ;) -- and having done a clone of my own [1], (not to mention the surprisingly small number of song posts), ... 5515, and please know that at least one reader noticed the occasional syllable-matches to TOS.
The 1 was for misspelling Gore's name, which is why it's not blue and hyperlinked, which means you can't click on it and see all the other LeslEy Gore songs, like you could at the one linked below, and also that in the "Parodies by Performer" archives, you've been orphaned. Check and see for yourself... Good thing for you that Chucky doesn't have a "Spelling" category - I noticed you didn't include that in your suggestions to Otto Voter.;-D (although to be fair, we all aaron spelling perfectly all the time. But titles and authors count more. ;)

Presumably, Para. 2 canceled out Para. 1 as far as effect on your ego, so it's ego-neutral (or neutered). [1] http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/lesleygore23.shtml
Warren, go there and see how you can click on LeslEy's name in the title, and see all the info about her, and other parodies of her songs.
Patrick and Mark have already been there, and it's by Dolly herself, but ewe can all go and see it again anyway, really!

(geek hint: Notice the URL of this song: blah blah leslygore0.sh*tml -- no one's used that name before, vs. blah blah lesleygore23 on the plug -- 23rd correct spelling. ...btw, if "own" and "clone" rhyme, why are they spelled differently? Why doesn't "clown" rhyme with "own", or "clone" rhyme with "one'? English is weird -- and hence, so fascinating! 8=D )

It's *possible* that the parody linked at [1[ above *might* be the first (and only) one to use "deoxyribonucleic", correctly paced. (The one previous attempt, in 2005 by a different writer, had to break the word with a hyphen.)
WarrenB - February 20, 2011 - Report this comment
The scream you just heard was made by someone who knows better. It's one of my pet peeves to see an artist's name spelled incorrectly. And now I find myself the recipient of my own judgement...
Luckily, I can blame it on one of my clones.
I did check out the lamb parody (enjoyed, BTW), and I'm a little surprised I didn't see it while doing my research (always try to see if someone's done a particular topic with a specific song- if someone has, I try to steer clear or go off on a completely different tangent).
As always, thanks for the instructive and entertaining comments. We both seem to have a love for the mother tongue (...don't go there...), and it's always fun searching for ways to abuse it winkingly.
Err in Spelling (second try at that pun) - February 20, 2011 - Report this comment
No worries; this was a much different tangent. ("Hey, Mr. Tangent-seen Man".... )
Maybe missed because of searching for "Lesly?" .... naah. Over on the right, on Navigation, click "Index By Performer", then click "L". (DK why sorted by first name; you'd have to ask ChuckyG.) Then just do a "find" for "Lesl" -- enough to take you to Lesley Gore (and see the spelling, heh!), click, scroll down or search for "You" ... presto!

Did you ever see the series of Calvin and Hobbes strips where Calvin clones himself five or six times, then counts on his clones to do his homework, chores, etc.? Instead, "they" end up getting into mischief for which "he" is blamed... Classic.

Thanks for looking at moi's. Still kinda surprised that no one thought noteworthy the rhyming of "Duck" and "copulate". (abusing the tongue winkingly ;)
