The Lyrics

Finally, I find the time to write a demented Christmas song of sorts. This is a mash-up of "You Really Got Me" with "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." The Kenny G line is a reference to one I wrote in my now-classic Christmas parody, "Coal in the Stockings."
Hey, you better watch it, sonny
You better watch it 'cause he's coming to town
Yeah, you better watch it now
You want a lot of gifts for Christmas

Dude, you better watch it now
'Cause Santa Claus is knowin' what you're doin', now
Oh yeah, you better watch it now
He knows when you are asleep at night

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout

See, your little Christmas tree
Would look so lonely without presents
Dude, you better watch it now
Or Kenny G will haunt your stockings

Yeah, you better watch it now
You better know that Santa's coming to town, now
Oh yeah, it's season's greetings now
You don't want fifty-seven fruitcakes

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
Here's why...

(guitar solo)

(Santa Claus and his nine reindeer -- including Rudolph -- set fire to the neighbor's house and then the house of the person in question explodes with an atomic bomb in it. Santa then terrorizes the town like a Yuletide Michael Myers.)

Please, dont ever let it be
You want a lotta crap for Christmas
Pete & Pete on DVD
And SNL's complete first season

Yeah, you better watch it now
Or Santa Claus is going on a rampage, now
Oh yeah, you better watch it now
Unless you want an evil Christmas

You watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout

(Song ends. Frosty comes to the rescue with a handgun and shoots Santa, and the Jolly One falls out of a balcony, presumably dead.)

**Little Girl** (Speaking)
"That was Santa Claus...?"

**Frosty** (Speaking with a British accent, a la Donald Pleasence)
As a matter of fact... it was. By the way, happy birthday.

(The Dog singing Jingle Bells plays in the background, a la the ending from the first "Halloween." Frosty runs out before a) Santa runs off and b) Frosty melts.)

Ho ho holy cow! A great one! Especially if you're waiting for Santa... all day and all of the night!

(SOTM) Some people might not appreciate the extra dialogue and action you include in your parodies, but I like the audio-picture you paint here.

SOTM - I thought this parody lacked one thing, but it's not in the pacing, not in the funny and not in the (normal) overall picture. It lacked a dedication to whom it's written for, so that I and the rest of the world can stay as far away as possible from that person, I mean... when Santa comes after you with an atomic bomb you must REALLY, REALLY have been bad and the kind of person one should avoid to hang around at all costs! :-)

Peter -- I only use a hostile Santa to make the parodies even funnier and more over-the-top. If your Christmas is far from perfect, it makes great parody fodder, especially if you can exaggerate the details or just make up a story altogether. And also, I thought it would be funny to put some nods to John Carpenter's "Halloween" to use. I think Santa is cool, but you have to joke around once in a while, you know?

SOTM--I would say something long and exasperating on this one, but so many Christmas parodies (you know so much of one topic can get tiring), good parody-I like your style. . .out of Christmas Spirit though--guess that's one of the side effects of hearing too much actual Christmas music back during the holiday, even if this one is a big deranged and creative, still being considered though . . .will weigh options shortly. . .

(SOTM) Hehehehe. Wonderfully smooshed, Chris. The quality of Yuletide parodies this year has been amazing. BRAVO! 555

This was a truly interesting idea.---MM
Stuart McArthur - January 30, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) see above, and even better the second time, because of its sheer originality - and as I said, the Santa words fit the Kinks OS better than the Kinks words did, and huge kudos for hitting upon that little quirk

(SOTM) I kind of got lost at the end, but overall it was good.

Fun parody, Chris. Well done.
