The Lyrics

In case anybody cares, the New Orleans Saints began the NFL season today by beating the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, 23-20. And last night, Louisiana State University's Fighting Tigers won a wild one against Arizona State in Tempe. Sometimes, sports needs to be put aside for a while. But when that while ends, don't ever underestimate its ability to help the recovery.
As I was slowly driving
on past Lake Ponchartrain
I saw the troubled skyline
and felt the city's pain.
Its buildings still were standing
but spirit still was weak.
And as I stood and watched there
the town began to speak.

I'm nobody's town.
I'm nobody's town.
An awful disaster
came and struck me down.
No more will music
and history abound.
No one can live here.
I'm nobody's town.

People saw Katrina
and packed their things to leave.
But some, they were unable.
Louisiana grieves.
For help they all were begging
but Bush's eye was blind.
He stayed on his vacation
and left this town behind.

I'm nobody's town.
I'm nobody's town.
An awful disaster
came and struck me down.
No more will music
and history abound.
No one can live here.
I'm nobody's town.

Too late to make much difference
and ease the tears we cry.
But there are those now helping.
They will not let me die.
They'll walk the streets I give them
and make me right one day
and just like back in days of old
they'll hear my music play.

I'm nobody's town.
I'm nobody's town.
An awful disaster
came and struck me down.
Someday the people
will come on back around.
Until that happens
I'm nobody's town.
So why did I take what should be a sad, poignant and yet inspiring song, and throw in a blame-Bush line or two? In the words of the last rightfully elected President, "Because I could." And you do have to live with it, because there are New Orleanians who now can't.

This one may be a little obscure for some of you. It started in the early Sixties as a country song about a blind boy at an orphanage. The Beatles recorded it very early in their career. Karen Young started out as a folkie and did this in 1969, when she was 18. But she became a disco singer, and died in 1991.

"Too late to make much difference and ease the tears we cry" hmmm, I thought that meant "too late for the city to rebuild, too late to save any more, the best are dead, too late to clean up the city and rebuild, too late to have hope for tomorrow, too late to make much difference, because now, it's too late to clean the streets of toxic waste, rebuild the city, treat the sick and help rebuild lives... cuz it's too late to make much a difference with any of that stuff, BUT WAIT! There is some time later when what? It's not too late? Good thinking for this parody! Besides, it being just a lot of hogwash propaganda, that is typical of your fanatical hobby, the city speaks and then does not even know what happened! Odd. Some were unable to leave. Try MOST of them, dah, many did not even want to go, if they had some way of going that is! And I just love this "no more music or history abound thing and that "no one can live here" stuff too, doesn't sit well with the end of the parody, but not many of your parodies plan that far ahead, so I did not expect anything more. And your lack of facts, your half truths and your bashes only make for a pathetic parody that can be read, (since we all have history from now on, all except for New Orleans, they have no more of that crap) even as early as today and be crumbled with facts that dispute the very few filmy ones you made up! Making things up hmmm.. doesn't that hurt you when time, (in this case, not a lot of time), proves you just get off on flying on the high you and your other parasites get from tragedy? I mean, don’t you ever go back and read your old nonsense and discover how idiotic you sounded when reality came rushing in and facts poured everywhere and you had your head down scribbling out a parody that would later prove you are a fool who doesn’t know any better and was not raised any better than you were? See, demoncrats, a dying party, may be fun company for your pride hiding hate to thrive and cover your loser self, but demoncrats are hardly going to save you from yourself. And your blind and dedicated alliance to the party who like you, can only bash and disrespect to hope to win elections and real votes, is really going to be your downfall. When life hits your fanatical little head straight on with a reality punch, you will still have your emotionally overwrought parodies filled with hysteria and now viewed by others as attacks with no facts, wrong facts or juvenile opinions " and then where will you be junior? Hey, I am just offering you some sound, real, factual and helpful information and advice here, you should consider swimming out of the gutter before you can’t one day and need to fester in it for life just so you can save face. And all those wasted years of being just one small black sheep in a huge herd of them, listening blindly as your herders controlled your silly little mind, will be so public and your pride so enormous, you will have to wallow with them for the rest of your natural life.. Forever…. just so no one can say “I told you so”. You know, pride practiced by an egocentric fanatic like you, cannot be a good thing.

No one knows the OS, but Michael knows it well... right down to the very last date, name, time and even reason.... perhaps this genius is reincarnated!
