The Lyrics

Another car song from the automotive parody specialist. This one's about an early '70s Ford LTD Country Squire wagon. It's based on the original release of Mary Poppins, which apparently is shorter than the newer one (but you get the gist).
Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by
Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by

Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon
Loaded full of junk in back,
You'd hear the muffler draggin'
When you had to fill it up
It drank gas by the flagon
Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon!

Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by
Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by

It was in 1970
When I was just a kid
A car had just come in that week
My parents made a bid
It was a bright metallic green
Attracting oohs and ahs

The biggest car I'd ever seen
And this is what it was: A

Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon
Even though the size of it
Was nothing short of stagg'rin'
If you revved it hard enough
It sounded like a dragon
Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon!

Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by
Vroom rattle rattle rattle clunk rattle by

It may have never had a trunk,
Instead a luggage bay
We took care of our Ford
And it still runs even today
But drive it very carefully
'Cause parts are hard to find

I wouldn't want to trade it in
And won't leave it behind!

That woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon!
Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon
Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon
Woody-paneled Ford LTD Country Squire wagon!
