The Lyrics

Don't know the OS? Nicely done Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious MIDI (that for once actually matches the parody) here ~ None of us is *completely* all-there... are they?
~

Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!
Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!

Super-cal-i-graph-ic-par-o-dist's-muse-is-psy-cho-sis!
That means he who writes best has some nut-job diagnosis
Thus one answer to this wacky theory I propose is
To improve watch MASH-a-thons—be Klinger by osmosis!

Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!
Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!

To pen the perfect parody you need that odd-ball brain
Where loose associations merge—like 'eggplant' and 'Hussein'
Tan-gential thinking, that's the ticket, loosen ego bounds
And so it's in asylums where the perfect author's found!

See—
Stuart suffers logorrhea, Alvin, he prodromes thus
JAB confabulates and AirFarce cat-a-tones us
M & P shift gender-ly, Phil's illness he has shown us
Strive for 'fives'? You'll win some if your 'syndrum' funny bones us!

Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!
Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!

Those neuroses like OCD's and phobias you bring
Are fine but full psychotics got that 'somethin' extra' zing
So if you're only border-line be sure to stop your meds
Just look at Charlie Manson's stuff—you'll laugh yourself to shreds!

Oh—
Kristof coprolalias, while Red Ant akathasias
Pacholek perseverates and Rick C hyperphagias
Spaff is really off with wall, he'll par-a-schem-a-maze-'ya
Throw away your thorazine, embrace mental dysplasia!

Some-scrib-ble-lit-tle-gig-gles!
Some-pen-a-Pie!
Kick-da-kra-zy-key-a-notch!
In-sane-ly-high!

Those—
Psy-cho-an-a-lytic terms they toss about today
Were based on am-I-writers and the syndromes they display
To all the other 'sickos' in this 'club,' please whack-a-way
And I'll keep "Poppins" LSD's in hopes I'll join some day!

Oh—
Super-caligraphic-parodist's-muse-is-psychosis!
That means he who writes best has some nut-job diagnosis
Thus the answer to this wacky theory I propose is
If you want to write well make like Loo-ney-Toon-y-Bo-zos!
(Yo!)
If you want to write well think like Loo-ney-Toon-y-Bo-zos!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Logorrhoea - Also known as "excessive volubility," is characterized by a patient's fluent and rambling speech using numerous words and occurs in certain kinds of mental illness, especially manias.
Prodrome – refers to initial symptomatology, especially a 'schizophrenic prodrome'
Confabulation - The more or less unconscious, defensive "filling in" of actual memory gaps by imaginary experiences, often complex, that are recounted in a detailed, plausible way. Seen principally in organic psychotic reactions such as Korsakoff's psychosis.
Perseveration - Refers to uncontrollable repetition of a particular response, such as a word, phrase, or gesture, despite the absence or cessation of the original stimulus. Usually it is seen in organic disorders of brain , head injury, delirium or dementia, however can be seen in schizophrenia as well.
Catatonia - A wide group of motor abnormalities, most involving extreme under- or overactivity, occurring primarily in catatonic schizophrenia but also in other disorders; included are catalepsy, catatonic excitement, catatonic stupor, catatonic rigidity, bizarre posturing, unusual mannerisms, stereotypy, waxy flexibility, and negativism.
Hyperphagia – One of several eating disorders associated with various psychiatric and neurological diseases. Pathological eating behaviour ranges from reduced to excessive appetite, dysregulation of hunger and satiation signals, and odd food preferences. Hyperphagia and anorexia are reported in lesions (mostly tumours) involving the ventromedial hypothalamus.
Coprolalia - The involuntary speaking of profanities. It is a motor tic associated with Tourette's Syndrome. Approx 10% of Tourettes patients suffer from it.
Akathisia - A feeling of 'inner restlessness' often brought on as a side effect of anti-psychotic medication. Patients with akathisia have a desire to keep moving and are unable to keep still even though their movements are voluntary (as opposed to other movement disorders such as tardive dyskinesia which is involuntary).
Thanks, Alvin....never thought I'd claim I'd like to be a Whack Job! Oh, by-the-by...forgot to include description of Spaff's disorder: Paraschemazia - Characterized by a distortion of a patient's body image. Often seen in schizophrenia, can also be caused by hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD and mescalin, epileptic auras, and sometimes exposure to Salt Lakes.
Wait a minute! Are you calling me Korsakovian? I'd rather be capricornian with Kournikovia. Fabulously funny and informative.
Good grief! Are you that kid with the booth on the sidewalk with the sign that says "Psychiatric Help - 5c"?
Adagio - October 16, 2006 - Report this comment
So true! And you could include the rest of us too. I likparodies like yours that point out the obvious! 5's : D
A most indelible and delightful endeavor....
You don't have to be crazy to post here, but it sure helps! LOL. My family is rife with neurological disorders, writing parodies seems to be the way it has manifested itself in me. Thank goodness!
*holds mirror up to TJC, then passes it to alvin who holds mirror up to TJC, then passes it to JAB who holds mirror up to TJC, then...etc, etc....*
yeah well I might logorrhea, but at least I don't copralalia, and I've NEVER akathasiaed (not in public at least)
your erudite wicked parodies are a treat, AJC, and this is one of your best - 555
John - Thanks so much and I was kidding about the Korsakoff's... all your parodys literally exude thiamine! ~ 2Eagle - Lucy wouldn't be a bad pen name... but always makes me think of Kluver-Bucy syndrome...a rare neurological disorder that causes individuals to put objects in their mouths and engage in inappropriate sexual behavior....but if the shoe, er, um... object fits...! ~ Adagio - thanks, and I know the danger of naming anyone in a song is that you inevitably leave out people you'd love to include due to the OS's constraints...astereognosis, or Inability to recognize familiar objects by touch that cannot be explained by a defect of elementary tactile sensation would have been my choice for you (all in jest, of course!) ~ AFW, PMS and John - thanks mucho guys/gals, appreciate it! ~ Stuart - please know, the `disorders' were assigned by rhyme-scheme/meter constraints... no personal affronts intended! And thanks for the complement... ~ Lionel - Thanks and it was written for you... the original draft used Mertens and Mitmachen - a condition in which the patient's body can be put into any posture, despite instructions given that the patient resist; unfortunately it was edited for meter... ~ Thanks again all!
Do you really think I'm psychotic?
TJC - October 16, 2006 - Report this comment
Lionel - No... at least no more than you think I'm non-stop poppin' LSD's to try catch up with you and all the am-I-righter old timers/pros fanciful imaginations!
Red Ant - October 17, 2006 - Report this comment
DAMMIT! I do not have "Akathisia". [Fingers tap, curls toes] I don't have the rest of these mental disodrers (dyslexia wasn't listed, write?) I never overeat bag of chips (especially the jalapeno flavored ones). I was in Rome saving the Pope from aliens last year, too; I "swear." My responses are never unnecessarily wordy, overly long or redundant, either. I DO look like a celebrity. I could ramble on about how perfectly sane I am, but I feel the point has been made. =)
All joking aside, this was very good, TJC. A good follow-up would be "Neurotic" to Alanis' "Ironic".
Adagio - October 17, 2006 - Report this comment
TJC, how'd you come up with all those psychiatric terms? Ok....I'm still trying to figure out astereognosis. Does that mean I can't recognize the plain truth in front of me? : )
TJC - October 17, 2006 - Report this comment
Very funny, Adagio...alas, always assigned alliteratively...
