“Yo!” I crow for sugar “hair”
and ice-cream lappin’ at the fair,
lots of animals everywhere—
a donkey loudly brays.

But this is only half the fun—
inside the tent is where I run.
There is a show there that will stun;
the crowd is here to gaze.

And we are wowed: the goat rides cow. . .
bobs up and down, stays on somehow.
Some louts are hoping it will fall;
a creep issues a loud catcall.

Soon I’ll swoon on Ferris wheel;
now animal antics appeal:
they look so scary and unreal—
I love to watch them play.

This is just a wonderful show,
the people happy, beg for mo’.
My only care is: I must go
when done’s the day.

So good; I love it: goat rides cow—
Don’t slip, don’t quake,
stay on somehow!
Still up and cruisin’, it don’t fall;
I’m really having fun, a ball!

“Cheers for Tiers!*” as might cry Krauts.
Nostrils flare on both creatures’ snouts.
Schemes and screams of circus touts
are rife here every day.

But later the goat’s acting strange—
ovine and bovine seem deranged.
My innocence is gone; I’m pained.
There’s mischief in the hay

As if his wife, the goat rides cow;
he finishes then drills some sow.
All my illusions stars to fall. . .
squeals as in Ned’s film I recall.
