The Lyrics

In a week or so, the night watchman at club Mar-a-Lago is holding a political rally at a site billed as "the York Family Farm" in Alabama. I based this upon the JM studio album version so the pacing differs somewhat from the CSN&Y popular recording. Where possible, I've tried to use lines that rhyme with the original lyrics.
I came upon a childish clod
He was talking but no one's there
And I asked him, "Where are you going?"
And this he told me:
"I am goin' on down to Ross York's farm
I'm gonna join with an uncontrolled man
I'm gonna trust unto Q's plan
I'm gonna try to get trump's votes freed
We have mistrust
Votes were stolen
And we've got to spread Covid
Too in the bargain"

2d verse skipped, who needs it?

In due time a fascists' Woodstock
A collective of the wrong
And every one not too strong on cogitation
And they dreamed of reinstatement
Whining that they'd been denied
An overtuning built on lies
Was their fixation.
They are star-crossed
Minions to the broken
trump's beholden
Caught in that devil's bargain
But they'll never get him back
To the Rose Garden.

???? It could have been A LOT BETTER!!!!

2LD4U, why would you expect more from a dunt who can't be bothered to write the 2nd verse, and insists on calling anyone on the right "fascist" while willfully ignoring the fact that Dem-supported Antifa and BLM groups do the exact same things Hitler's Brownshirts (Sturmabteilung) did. Some elements of the uniforms and flags are eerily similar. But you know, orange man bad.

@2LD4U - yeah, I was hoping for more too. @Phil Odorifer - Stop whining. We fully acknowledge that there are still some on the conservative right that haven't slipped fully into fascism. But anyone who still supports the night watchman of Malo-Lago after all the revelations about his malignant autocratic actions in the past five years can no longer be thought to support democracy. Oh, your remark comparing BLM and Antifa to nazi activity couldn't be more wrong -- you *do* understand that Antifa is short (just barely) for Antifascist, right?
Phil Ossifer - August 19, 2021 - Report this comment
You do understand that physically attacking people for daring to have a point of view (in this case, non-"woke") that doesn't match yours is exactly what the Brownshirts did.
John Dacey - August 20, 2021 - Report this comment
The way you mischaracterize BLM and Antifa is spectacularly wrong. And the Brownshirts were primarily motivated by religious and ethnic bigotry, not differing 'points of view' over policy issues. Nobody went to Dachau because they supported a higher corporate tax rate or a hike in the minimum wage.
