All our gear is packed, we are ready to go
The "P" flag is up and we check the hoists
Already we're so lonely we could cry
We detach the spring lines and moorings too
The diesel is running and now we're loose
All people ashore, it's time to say good bye

Cause I'm leaving on a sail boat
my home, is now afloat
I'll be spending there a year or two

I'll untie the clips and get the main sail loose
I'll hoist it up and it flies like goose
The jib and rolling furler, I'll let go
Now the sails are up, and we're doing fine
I put diesel stop and sun will shine
We're doing five or six of knots, you know -
