The Lyrics

Inspired by the excellent movie There Will Be Blood. Imagine it sung in an accent similar to the one Daniel-Day Lewis uses in the movie. Also I'd recommend waiting to read it until you see the movie as it will make more sense.
Come and listen to my story bout a man named Dan
A Cali prospector with silver as his plan
Until one day he was panning for some bood
And up from the ground come a bubblin' crude

Oil that is
Pure gold
Makes men greedy
Like JR Ewing

Well the next thing you know Dan's a millionaire
With loads of money and power everywhere
So he goes to see the preacher and get the rights to drill
Plenty of gushers in Preacher Eli's hills

Corruption that is
What too much money and power will do to you.

So the pumping keeps going and Daniel sees no doom
Until one day when a well goes kaboom
And when the fire's gone out and they salvage what is left
It's only then he realizes that HW's gone deaf

Abandoned that is.
Sent away to San Francisco to a school for the deaf

A few days later with the use of much duress
Eli makes Daniel sit down and confess
His sins on the floor of Eli's new church
But still he fails to knock Daniel from his perch

Faith healing that is
Just like Robertson and Falwell

Towards the climax of the movie comes the famous scene
Where Daniel shows Eli how to really be mean
Upset at being reminded of his constant sin
Daniel caves in Eli's head with a bowling pin

I'm finished that is
What Dan says when the butler comes to the bowling alley.

I drank your milkshake y'hear

Sounds like a good movie. I read the entire synopsis on Wikipedia. It seems to have quite an involved plot. I will make it a point to view it. Your parody followed the synopsis really well with the bowling pin ending. Nice job with this.

Very nice job of summarizing the flick, albeit somewhat at cost to pacing here and there, esp. in the spoken "connector" bits.

Good description of the actor who played the totally intense ~Daniel Planview~ in THERE WILL BE . . . perhaps this movie on 'greed' should've gotten the Oscar!
