The Lyrics

youtube version Harper Valley PTA
I gotta tell you all about the story ’bout a gossip ally little site
They love to upstage with their putrid comments in this gossip alley sight.
Well the slaughter happens they are full of that lunar madness they call play
But when the dust clears some people are hurt and some others dearly pay.

Well it’s about those pictures over which men act the fool, leer and eye.
They’ve been seen drinking and running round with women and goin’ way too wild.
I can honestly assure you that I have never acted way too risqué.
Unless used as a joke there will surely be a lot of h** to pay.

Well it happens that they weren't as free and took advantage not opportune.
The big guy and his helpers were there slowly building their tempers to a fine tune.
Then they walked into a surprised room and really started having their say!
They all started to address that very room and there was a lot of h** to pay.

Well, there is this guy a-sittin’ there and all he spews towards us is lots of hate.
He uses a lotta pictures to flirt with girls and takes up way too much space.
His trusty sidekick is seen with him and makes wild jokes and is well renowned.
There’s a girl with a lotta pictures to keep.
They were shady and most were taken down.

Well, there ought’er be more here cause they’re all a little crazy, but song can’t contain.
Let me tell you of my theory of what they’re all about these denizens.
Well when they lose their nerve they tell me that as a person I’m not fit.
Well, this is all just a little Peyton Place and most are little ole’ hypocrites

Nah, I would not put you on because they happened to be really just that way.
Portrayed the drama locked in there the gossip alley h*** to pay.
Portrayed the drama locked in there the gossip alley h*** to pay.

Adage, this is good, and I enjoy the ~OS~. I know well about being the subject of gossip ~USA~ during my days with tres caballeros-hermanos de la Campagna . . .
alvin - April 15, 2008 - Report this comment

Pat - excellent bit of writing. I have attempted this OS several times and abandonded it each time I have tried. A search of amiright shows me that this is only the 3rd time this song has been put to parody on this site. Impressive.

And this looks suspiciously like PPP on the amiright message board. I've spend short spurts time over there from time to time and I can almost pick out some of the characters this parody resembles. Well done. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks alvin.! I have to admit I didn't think of herman one-ster, but I liked it. Guy, this song is something else to write a parody to. I was SO glad when it was finished. Uh, yea, you got it right...PPP...and thank you!! : )
