Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Hmmm...thought I submitted this yesterday...oh, well...OS was written by Brewer & Shipley but I'm using the more drama-tinged version by HP Lovecraft.
[brief but dramatic instrumental intro]

Can you tell me, Sir, please?
Have you seen
where is the cheese
That cheese was right here
It was in a big ball
Oh, it's still right there, after all

Now we eat that cheese, yum
Beware! Here comes that cat, Tom
Yeah, he will kill us
Yeah, that would not be keen
Best we not remain at this scene

'Cause for Tom we all are meal-sized
We mice are meal-sized
And that is crappy, man
That crazy cat is deranged
He'd sneak up behind us
He would damage us and cause pain
That kitty is mindless

[instrumental break]

This is really not fair
And you readers ; mostly likely don't care
Sit and eat Cheetos
Check out what's on TV
Meanwhile we are chased by that kitty

If he catches us then we'll die
We do not want to die
We'd be a cat-meal
Yeah, that would cause us pain
Eaten by a cat; sucks
He would feast on our remains
That would be real bad luck

Keep away from kitty
Watch out for that kitty
Must avoid the kitty

(Sh*t, that cat's here nowmeowmeowmeow)
(Damn, that cat's here nowmeowmeowmeow)
(Cat will eat us nowmeowmeowmeow)

[out to fade]

I know you don't like rhyme machines Paul... But could I interest you in a cheese machine? 5's anyway.

I DKTOS, and couldn't find a copy on LimeWire, but it is funny; I love the mouse's perspective. When i was a kid, I raised them as snake feed for pet stores (morbid, ain't it?), and thought all they did was piss, f***, and sleep. One minor sugestion though: "And you readers" might work better as "And you list'ners"; if you ever record this, you wouldn't have to change that line, and those who do KTOS could sing along and not wonder about "readers". Just my 2 slices of cheese, don't go shootin' me down or anything, lol. 5s.

While we're on the subject of mice, if you're interested, take a look some time at my "Deep Fried Those Mice" (shameless semi-plug).

Lionel, no machine, just send some fresh slices, OK? Stuart - inside the mind of the mouse..."EEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!"...Red - Thanks! Actually I already have recorded an over-lay version..but I left it at "reader's"...I MIGHT change it to "list'ners" on another try, but "reader's" still flows a lot better in the sound context of the song...which you can't tell because you don't have it. Thanks for the suggestion, though...I'm in between on whether to change the context on written pieces to reflect it being sung instead of read. On a parody of "Californication" I wrote a while back I used "read" in the written but sang "hear" in the audio...Pat, Thanks!
