The Lyrics

Forgot to post this along with my CA suite a couple of weeks ago. Brown has no competition in the primary. Remains to see which of the GOP billionaires he’ll face in the general election. . .primary’s today.
Mr. Brown, you’re off’rin’ that we oughta
Make our mark for you? But we’ve been there!
First your dad—his feet on earth were down.
You’ve made it clear that once, enough—no second time.

Many think returning you is not a
Good idea. . .already played the game.
Things have changed. Who really wants you now?
You’ve made it clear that not for us a second time.

Walkin’ in out-er space—some were wowed,
But then you checked out—hoped to join D.C. crowd.[1]

Now we find you’re comin’ round to see us (round to see us)
Trying to sell a refashioned line (fashioned line)
Don’t bet on playing again the part;
The time has come for your moonbeam elsewhere to shine.

Walkin’ in out-er space—“Moonbeam” crowd,
But you then checked out. Now you’re back; we’re not wowed.

And we find you’re comin’ round to see us (round to see us)
Trying to sell a refashioned line (fashioned line)
Don’t bet on playing again the part;
You’re in the company of folks with beaucoup dimes.[2]

Mr. Brown, you’re off’rin’ that we oughta? (us we oughta?). . . .

[1]Brown (a.k.a. “Governor Moonbeam”) helmed the state from 1975-1983. He’s currently the state’s AG, but he’s running unopposed for the Democratic nomination for gov to succeed Schwarzenegger. Jerry ran unsuccessfully for U.S. senate in 1982 and failed in three runs for president. Relatively speaking, he has no money.
[2]Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner are billionaires trying to buy the election. Whitman has vowed to spend $150 million of her own money in her quest. History has not smiled on mega-rich Dbags trying to buy office in CA, the most spectacular failures being Don Al Checci, who tried to purchase the gov’s office in 1998 (for $40 million), and Michael Huffington, former hubby of Ariana Huffingingpost. Michael blew. . .$28 million trying to defeat Sen. Dianne Feinstein in 1994.
