The Lyrics

When it comes to Christmas shopping...some husbands don't have a clue
I Bought My Wife A KitchenAid For Christmas

I bought my wife a KitchenAid for Christmas
I don’t think it’s a thoughtless gift…do you ?
No diamond ring…no sexy lingerie
I bought her something practical that she’ll use every day

I bought her an Electrolux for Christmas
I’m sure that she’ll just love it…don’t ‘cha think ?
Her pride will swell…with joy and happiness
She’ll have the right equipment to be cleaning-up my mess

I can see her face on Christmas morning
Grinning ear to ear
Her spirits I will lift
When she opens up her gift
And sees a Waring blender waiting there

I bought my wife an oven mitt for Christmas
I picked her favorite color…”baby blue”
No sappy card…no cashmere for my spouse
I only buy…her things for keeping house
‘Cuz keeping house is what she likes to do…

(short musical interlude)

I buy her gifts…she’ll use throughout the years
It only took…me one quick trip to Sears

(short musical interlude)

This way she’ll know…how much I really care
I think she needs a new broom more than satin underwear

I can see her face on Christmas morning,
Streaked with tears of joy
Her heart will nearly stop
When she sees her brand-new mop
And a brand-new bucket to deploy

I bought my wife some Brillo Pads for Christmas
Now is the time for her to get to work
I’ll sit around…as lazy as can be
Watching the game…on my big screen TV

And she’ll just keep on thinking, “what a jerk”!

There was a parodist maybe 20 years ago who did something similar. I don't think it was Weird Al, but it was that level of quality. It parodied Blinded Me With Science into Bought Her An Appliance.

Yes, it's a stereotype, but some women actually DO want a new mixer for Christmas

Somebody gave us a KitchenAid. It was the best gift we got. Have you ever tried to make brioche by hand?

Thanks for the comments all...
Stan...this is actually my second attempt at this OS. The first was posted 12/3/2007, just over a year ago and was my third submission. When I did the search I realized...this is my 50th parody !!!
Thanks alvin...now get shopping
I'm glad Mrs. Rex will be happy
I tried to find it on google but, no luck
2Eagle...I actually have a KitchenAid mixer and I love it. It's worked well for a long time and gets used several times a week. I'd love to have you all come over so I could cook something...

No LilScorpia...she gave the KitchenAid to me...along with an apron, a pair of Rubbermaid dishwashing gloves, and a pair of cowboy boots (not sure what the boots are for...)

IB - I tried to google it too, but it was out before the internet became what it is today. And next time I'm up north in Maine, I may take you up on that.

IB _- Congrats on reaching 50! Having only arrived at AIR in Jan/08, I haven't seen many antedating entries, but I'll make a poiint of looking up the one you mention. Meanwhile, a freind recently sent me this link to a very funny video that treats the same theme as your parody. Give it a look and it'll give you a laugh:

Had never heard this OS until now - very strange and I think you did a nice job with your goofy rendition above - nice match of parody and OS

IB - Did you marry the upstairs maid or what? I comment you for keeping this parody clean. Well done.

(ABC) hey good luck with the divorce mate, although we all secretly know that, despite the whole womens liberation circus, all they really want is to be scrubbing floors (oh, and having babies) - nice manipulation of the OS too - 555

This was pretty funny, IB. I would love a good blender for a gift. As for the little woman, replace "kitchen" with "bedroom", and we had a hit. Fine rhyming here.

Dave: This song is a Christmas Time classic!!! I can't believe you've never heard this song before!!! Boy: Fantastic job here cleverly sexist pulling all the punches and while it's slightly seasonal I'll allow it.

My dad bought my mom a toaster for Mothers Day once twenty years ago. He still gets crap from the family. This touched home for me, very funny!

OMG..... just when I thought I'd got over the 'Tiny Tits for Christmas' you come back with this one as the sequel!! Even funnier, this is definitely worth a 555!
