For quite a few big fish, I'm certain
It's dawn and I'm out here
Their doom they face,
Hooks will be hurtin'

Sometimes when life gets dull,
Drive by this stream along the highway
No where's more fun than this
I do it fly way..

Big fish, I'll snag a few
Sometimes, get wet
And come out drenchin'
I do what I love to do,
Good hobby too,
Easy on pension

Gave up the old golf course,
Out here, no bags,
Rewards are fry way
No pastime..great as this,
I do it fly way

Yes, there are times
Boredom peeks thru
Or fish don't bite,
And mosquitos do
But now and then, I'll snag a trout,
Tighten my line and pull him out
A prize not small,
Mounts on my wall
I did it fly way

I'll sit and spit and drink,
Good place to do my share of boozin'
Watch birds and frogs that wink
If I get tired, a little snoozin'

Where else can you do this
In such a relaxed natural guy way
Oh no, there's nowhere else,
Except the fly way

For any man this means a lot
To be alone, to find his slot
To think out all the things he feels
Life's secret lies in fishin' reels
Contentment glows, just pick your nose,
And do it fly way

No way like fly way
