The bummer wind came blowin’ in
From the colon’s crease.
It lingered there; all should beware—
It won’t soon cease.

Persistent, strong,

Not sweet, farts—ran-cid bummer wind.

They’ve fainted right and left at blight
That comes flyin’ nigh.
Then words like “Euwe!”. . .letters, “P-U,”
Folks heard to cry.

More rotten than a Liederkranz. . .
“Nosegay”—this term won’t do!
It wafts through, it wafts through—Whew!
The bummer wind.

That awful wind
And that wicked wind,
From near-dump it’s spawned.
It’s ill and strays
To nose and stays. . .
To mouth, if you’ve yawned.
It festers like
A month-old Pike with no refrigerant—
Belligerent, the bummer wind.
