The Lyrics

OK, this is a parody i wrote as i finally left Paris after nearly 8 months in that wonderful city. It's not a particularly funny parody, and will not mean much to most of you, but those months left such an impression on me i'd like to share this with you all on my return to Amiright! I hope you like it anyway! :-)
And now, the end is here, as we all part, from our adventure.
My friends, it’s very clear, that this last year, has been eventful.
We’ve lived, in gay Paris, or ile-de-france for 7 months now.
One thing, we can’t deny, it’s in our blood now!

Regrets, i’ve quite a few, but of them all, leaving’s the greatest.
the friends, the crazy nights, the drunkeness, in random places.
The girls, who broke my heart, in many ways, will make me stronger,
One day, perhaps I’ll learn, where I went wrong there!

Yes there were times, i’m sure you knew,
Where i did not, quite know what to do,
But through it all, when i was down,
Somebody always banished my frown.
My photo’s show, just what i owe, to my year away!

I loved, i laughed and cried, i tried my best, to teach those b******s.
But now, as i reside, back here at home, i miss my classes,
To think, i did all that, is truly hard, at times to believe,
I feel, so broke inside, preparing to leave.

For what is a man? What has he got? Without Hideout, Highlander, WoS?
To drink the beers and see the face, of friends that he couldn’t replace?
So thanks for all, i love you all, ‘til we meet again!

Yes we’ll meet again!!!

N.B Original last verse of parody reads "without Alliance, Highlander, WoS" meaning the amazing Auld Alliance pub at St paul, however for the sake of pacing for this site, i have changed it to Hideout! :-)

Revisiting this site after all these years and finding this here that I'd forgotten about really takes me back. I still miss Paris 13 years later and I miss this site. About time I submitted a new song I reckon.
