Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Pain All Through The Night"

Parody Written by:

Mark Scotti

The Lyrics

This is a strange one, but I wrote it many years ago in my teen days. It was inspired by the wonderful Tom Lehrer's classic "The Masochism Tango"
Something in the night improved my chances,
Something in the night,
Had drawn your glances. Would I be your love,
You gave the sign I knew

Something on your thigh said don't disagree,
Out then came your whip, it really hurt me,
And I loved it so,
You really know that's true.

Pain all through the night, all I really want
Is pain all through the night
Two savage people
When I got my first deep welt,
My heart began to melt,

Love was just a gash away,
A warm and bloody gash away and -

Ever since that night they tried to warn me,
Scars will never heal, and you would own me
But I can never fight,
I want pain all through the night

Glad you put the copyright date on there, as it certainly isn't the quality of the Mark Scotti that I know and love. :) E. g. forced pacing of dis-A-gree; unrhyme with "hurt me" (OS is feminine-rhymed here, so penultimate syls have to rhyme: "exciting/inviting"), and repeating "gash" (even TOS doesn't) 'stead of easy sub/rhyme "thrash". "Warn" and "own" also rather weak. Interesting look at the early Scotti -- and the vast growth since. :-)

Your turn, and (cough) this might "dominate" (LOL!) the genre and be at the "top" of the list:

I know that four plugs to one is unfair, but just wanted to give ya the catalog -- no need to read all four, or any of them, for that matter. And, uh, shouldn't some of these OSs have been done by the Kinks? :)

Cheers, TT

"Four Plugs", "Four Lashes",,,,,what's the difference? LOL... Yes, this was one of my very first parodies(so please, be gentle..)

Mark, I look back at some of my very early stuff, and it looks so amateurish by comparison... At least you and I learn and grow, while some poor slobs stay at the same level all of their lives.

IOW, it wasn't a critique, it was a compliment on how far you've come. I don't phrase these things properly -- the needle in my social compass was never magnetized, so please, take it all with a grain of salt in the wound :)

To TT: That's OK, I wasn't offended by the comment. The "please be gentle" was a pun, based on the parody subject. No prob.
