The Lyrics

This is just something weird that popped into my head. What could happen when Voldemort loses control over Azkaban, and the Dementors. I don't know why I gave them Muggle instruments, but I guess the characters could use a few Muggle artifacts sometimes.
The Weasley twins threw a party in Azkaban jail.
The Weird Sisters were there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing.
You would've thought HP had been taken over by the King.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock.

The Patil twins played on violins,
The fluteists were led by little Gin.
Dean and Seamus made cymbols clang,
The piano was played by Cho Chang.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock.

Ron Weasley said to Hermione:
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
come on and do the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock with me."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock.

Snape and Filch were sittin' on a block of stone
way over in the corner weepin' all alone.
Dumbledore said, "Hey, Argus and Severus, don't you be no squares.
If you can't find a partner conjure some from thin air."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock.

Draco said to Crabbe and Goyle,
"Let's do something to make Potter's blood boil."
They just grunted, and then they saw,
A huge buffet table, with lots of cheese logs.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Azkaban Jailhouse Rock.

Now, how did you suppose three extra syllables would fit?
Stray Pooch - April 13, 2003 - Report this comment
Katie, this was an excellent concept - but not well realized. The "extra three syllables" that Princess Ana mentioned are a real problem. You are off on the syllable count in a lot of places - not just there. One syllable you can get away with - for example "Come on and do the Azkaban rock with me" would be close enough - and make sense to the HP fans at whom the parody is aimed. Your opening line could have worked with "The Weaslys threw a party at the Azkaban jail." Specifying the twins added an unnecessary extra word/syllable. This shows a lot of creatvity, but needs works. One minor point about your intro, does Voldemort control Azkaban? I know they use Dementors but I do not think he-who-must-not-be-named has any sway over that place. After all, until Harry showed back up, Lord V was missing in action. Can't wait for OOTP . . .

i agree with stray pooch i dont think the being formerly known as tom riddle has anything to do with azkaban. This could probably be reworked into a decent parody as the ¨hogwarts rock¨

Interesting concept, dodgy pacing. Not good, but not bad either.

This is my favorite 50's song by Elvis. The concept is pretty good but the pacing is not there. 3's.
