The Lyrics

Since someone's already done "He shall be LeBron," and at the risk of someone doing "Love Shaq," I wanted to be the first on Amiright to do a Yao Ming parody. Of course, it also speaks to the NBA being the ultimate league of "If it didn't happen 15 minutes ago, it didn't happen, so throw it away." Also known as, "Whaddaya mean this Wilt guy was better than Jordan?"
It's Yao forever, no more Shaquille.
Goodbye, Air Jordan, this guy is for real.
Tomorrow, we'll all then sing.
It's Yao forever, we love Yao Ming.

When I first saw him, with his head in the rafter
this fan was captured forever after.
It's been so tragic, missing Kareem and Magic.
But Yao, he's the best, not like the rest, Yao Ming.

It's Yao forever, no more Shaquille.
Goodbye, Air Jordan, this guy is for real.
Tomorrow, we'll all then sing.
It's Yao forever, we love Yao Ming.

Just like Ralph Sampson, he's a Houston Rocket
and like Olajuwon, a title he'll pocket.
He ain't Manute Bol, he can play basketball.
And who knows when his like again we'll see?

It's Yao forever, no more Shaquille.
Goodbye, Air Jordan, this guy is for real.
Tomorrow, we'll all then sing.
It's Yao forever, we love Yao Ming.
It's Yao forever, we love Yao Ming.
It's Yao forever...we love...Yao Ming.
It's Yao forever...we loooooooove Yao Miiiingggg!

Well done, Michael. In your implied debate over whether Chamberlain or Jordan was the best NBA player, I pick ... Bill Russell. Some of his stats might not be as good as theirs, but eleven NBA titles outweighs all of their scoring records.

It's a tricky thing to say the 11 rings alone makes Russell better, John, but what he did to achieve them cannot be ignored. Still, was Henri Richard (11 Cups, tying Russell's all-sports record) really better than brother Maurice (9 Cups)? (Baseball, Yogi Berra had 10; Football as far as I can tell, Forrest Gregg and Herb Adderley share the record with 6, 5 with the Packers and 1 with the Cowboys). Of course, Yao hasn't won any yet...he hasn't had the chance. Will he prove to be a landmark, or fluky like Ichiro Suzuki? Oh yeah, thanks for the review.
