The Lyrics

First, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went bust & failed
The government took over, and they still prevailed
Now Lehman Brothers winds up in the red, bankrupt
Lotta' big investors goin' belly up..

Things rock,
Shakin' Wall Street's whole block
Brokers holdin' tons a' worthless stock
Not to worry, Gov's a BailOut Rock

Some old established firms are slippin' by the inch
Bank of America buys dyin' Merrill Lynch
When AIG's cash equity starts fallin' fast
With taxpayers' billions " Old Gov" saves their ass

Things rock,
All a' Wall Street's in hock
Country's finance needs to see a Doc
All the Biggies get a BailOut Rock

Now Congress meets in session with a rushed debate
The President says hurry up. things just can't wait
'Bout seven hundred billion could be the price tag
Don't worry, Donald Trump has got it in his bag

Things rock,
Seconds tick on the clock
Better tuck a dollar in our sock
Gov's still chippin' on the BailOut Rock

This couldn't happen at a much worse time
Our National election's in the light of lime
Obama and McCain just might be wishin' bad,
With all this country's problems, kept the job they had..

Things rock,
Bankers nervously flock
Better stash some money in a crock
Might be shafted by the BailOut Rock

Gettin' shafted by the BailOut Rock
Gettin' shafted by the BailOut Rock
Bein' taken by the BailOut Rock
On our money box there ain't no lock

We're all payin' for the BailOut Rock

Yeah, payin' for the BailOut Rock

Ten thou a fam'ly for the BailOut Rock..

i love the way you make dry subjects so entertaining

The part that worries me the most about the "bailouts" is the FED being close to a 80% owner of AIG as part of their loan.

Great job here. I've been working on an Elvis/Wall Street Crisis parody but this nails it.

This is obviously a copycat of my "Bank Bailout" parody. Your parody was not an original idea. And my parody was an accurate prediction to what happened. Yours not so creative

Obvious copycat, Mr. P.I.? I looked at your Bank Bailout parody and this one, and while the subject is similar, this is not a copycat parody.

Also, slamming others while praising yourself is not a good way to make friends around here.

So we know who shanked him on the votes, then, huh? It don't matter. Obviously someone's "TICKED" off on this site. 555.

Thanks, alvin, McKludge, and Andrew.........................and To: Poli-tick-ly Incorrect: never read, or heard of your parody before your comment...About it being an original idea...If you wish to take credit for the country's financial condition, and/or bailout..go right ahead...Lord knows, we need to blame someone...and thanks for the 1 votes...I didn't give yours a vote.

Excellent rhymes/storytellin'! Agree with alvin's analysis (as usual) and amused by Pol-tick-ly Unstable... really some staggering numbers (hope the Chinese'll still wanna buy our T-Bills!)!

Here's another song about the bailout. Whoever thought you could make the Wall Street mess sound sexy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZUXXSxZPhw
