Song Parodies -> "Returned to Center"

Original Song Title:

"Return to Sender"

Original Performer:

Elvis Presley

Parody Song Title:

"Returned to Center"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

Dedicated to all those who have ever authored a document which suddenly developed a mind of it's own...
Returned to ‘center’
Returned to ‘center’

I have a letter for the post, man
Urgent, to be exact
Why in hell did the format
Default to ‘no word wrap’?

The text, it all got
Returned to ‘center’, align left woes
Why’d it do that? No-one knows
I typed it formal, looked sharp as tack
Now printer’s turnin’ out my copies all out of whack!

But when I rang and asked the help desk
Said they had no ide’
Should’ve heard it as warning
I blame technology!

(My stress has gone up…)
Returned to ‘center’ - that toolbar’s wrong
No such button? Where’s it gone?

Some time I’m gonna take ‘pon myself
Resort to write it by hand
And if it comes back my calligraph-y
Be the blame for ban - (handwriting’s awful)

Returned my scribble; penmanship blows
In a fury - fuse boss blows...

Returned to ‘center’
Returned to ‘center’...

How many times do I have to tell you two to always turn word wrap on? It must have been off because your doc. is not wrapped too tight. We have a term for users who do dumb things with computers at work. They are either called ID-10-T or we close the trouble ticket with this acronym: ISBTCATKB. Idiot sitting between the chair and the key board. Pronounced IZ-BIT-CAT-KIB. 5 IZ-BIT-CAT-KIB's for your typing effort.

I got a good laugh just from the top comment and the first two lines, as I was able too relate all too well! Yes, the rest of the song was fun too.

Thank you all. Dave, I've developed a bunch of sudden sinus probs and have been rather miserable. I guess it's time to go see a doc. Hopefully we will get some new parodies out in spite of it, however. :-)

writing by hand - now THERE'S an idea - a bit like talking by phone - the other day I was trying to return my wife's text message, but I didn't know how to put it so she'd know exactly waht I meant - and then it occurred to me.....phone her!

great syllable work M and P, and funny subs to the OS - 555
