Song Parodies -> "Sox Will Take the Prize"

Original Song Title:

"Devil in Disguise"

Original Performer:

Elvis

Parody Song Title:

"Sox Will Take the Prize"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

CHORUS:
Don't book on the Angels.
Balks from the Angels
Sox over Angels.
Screw Anaheim.

This series, Sox take the prize.
It's in the stars.
The Sox will take the prize.

They'll fool you with their pitches;
They're an excellent team.
They are going to the Series-
The fans will live their dream.

CHORUS

Might go all the way to seven,
But then-a big surprise:
Heavenly name-no victory;
They play in smog-choked skies.

CHORUS (3x)

The performer is Elvis Presley. He recorded under his first AND last names, you know; not just his first name. Btw, the parody was good, even though I'm for either team.

They suck!

Does this mean that the curse of the Babe will be broken?

JB, I must admit to being a little hazy on the original but I thought the pace was a bit off (could be wrong there). Anyway, I went "4-4-4" here even though I guess I would pull for the Red Sox if neither of the local SoCal teams advance (and it does not appear the will, with their dismal "0-2" record so far, which doesn't even come close to reflecting how truly lousy they have played in the first two games.

Good job John. I'm for ABY....anybody but Yankees. And to "SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE MY NAME" ; it is kinda ironic, you being so ashamed of your own name, yet being so concerned with Elvis. Do you think ELVIS ( yes, I call him with 1 name, like Cher, Madonna, Sting, etc )... do you think the King is turning over in his grave because someone paid him a compliment by assuming everyone ALREADY KNOWS HIS LAST NAME. And to attack the great parodist John Barry will not make you any friends on this site. Since we don't know what to call you, I'll just call you ANAL ATTENTIVE *SSHOLE

6-1 Sox in the top of the 7th as I write this. So I guess we'll have to beat the Red Sox yet again, instead of getting revenge for '02 on the Angels. Oh well, such is Pinstriped life.

Steve: If you think The Curse of the Bambino will be broken, you might be interested in buying the Harvard Bridge. Dee: As Elvis himself would say, "Thankyaverymuch."

I was NOT trying to attack anybody. Yes, I know that Cher, Madonna, and Sting have recorded under a 1-name alias, but Elvis Parsley never did. But you know what? There is another music artist named Elvis, and that's Elvis Costello (that's a pseudonym though, but he records under that name).
I like Elvis P.'s music very much, and I did say earlier that the parody was good.
