I'm not familiar with "The Taming of the Shrew", rather, more familiar with Dave Barry's home-improvement book parody "The Taming of the Screw", but this was still a great parody. I'm not married, but husbands do often seem like they think they're God, particularly abusive or domineering ones. 5s.

Thanks, Andria - The Taming of the Shrew is Shakespeare's most famous comedy and Kiss Me, Kate by Cole Porter is a modern version of it. KMK has some great music. Most romantic stories were patterned after The Taming of the Shrew - Gone with the Wind, It Happened One Night, etc.. Thanks, AFW - sounds more like the Stockholm syndrome.

The play is one of my faves, but I'm afraid I got a little muddled in trying to pace it... Nevertheless, enjoyed reading the text again! And your comment about the romantic stories has a bit of truth in it! (Most recently, 10 Things I Hate About You) :)

Thanks, Fiddle - I was more concerned about keeping the lines from the play as they were than I was about pacing, but I had to rearrange the original text and condense it. The OS goes just perfectly with the final scene from "Shrew".

Of course you had to rearrange the original text and condense it -- so why not do so in such a manner as to pace to TOS? It's been done a couple of times before, somewhere around here. ;)

Very flattering to see a genre that we created motivate others to continue it, but there were only one or two lines in the whole song that paced to TOS. The rest ranged from a little off to not even close. (FG, as sweet as she is, was being very kind). It's *supposed* to pace; that's why there's a "pacing" box to vote.

This is going to hurt me more than it'll hurt you (seriously), but 1-5-3, with hope that you'll rework it, either to this or another OS, to capture the lines *and* pace them to whatever OS. *That* would be a classic.. Congrats on taking on the task, though -- it's not as easy as it might look, as you've seen. Cheers, and no offense intended.

Thanks, Mark - I was trying to keep the spript intact at the expense of proper pacing, but I had to rearrange it just the same. It goes so well with the original song. By the way, I would like to hear an actress playing the part to end this with a rasberry and say, "In a pig's eye!".
