Bravo from a former Bostonian and current Concordian! It's pretty well agreed that Paul Revere would never have yelled "The British are coming!", since all the Colonials were still technically British subjects at the time.....it's most likely he yelled something like "The Regulars are out!" Also ...... many people don't know that there were MANY riders just like Paul Revere on that night of April 18-19 in 1775 .... there was an entire network of messengers and riders ready-to-go at a moment's notice, not only in Boston, but in all the surrounding towns, up and down the coast and inland. The Colonials had planned for that kind of eventuality long beforehand --- they had an intricate, cleverly-planned system of mounted messengers in-place and ready to be called upon in just such an emergency.
