Parody Song Title:

"Enterprize"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I got a good job flying starships
Captain James T Kirk, Space Corps
And I got a new three-year mission
To boldly go were no-ones gone before

With Kirk on the flight decking
Enterprize keep on trekking
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed

First mate Spock is a Vulcan
It means his ears are somewhat over-sized
But inside he's still a big softy
I guess he's only partly Vulcanized

Captain's log keep logging
Enterprize keep on jogging
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed

I got my eye on Lieutenant Uhura
She's a real foxy chick, you know
I think of her a lot, e-specially when Scotty
Says "She canna take it she's gonna blow"

Warp drives keep on blowing
Enterprize keep on going
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed

The medic on board is called McCoitus
At least that's what I think he said
Now, I don't mean to mock but if he's such a good doc
Why'd he always end up saying "Jim, he's dead"?

Crew hands keep on dying
Enterprize keep on flying
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed

Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed
Boldly, boldly, boldly on at lightspeed

Afterthought --You forgot someone----------Pilot by the name of Sulu/ --Doesn't get to say too much /--Seems to be the only guy on board/ ---Who can handle the stick and clutch// While he just sits there shifting--The Enterprize keeps space-rifting.....

I thought it was a five-year mission. In your case, the mission is to boldly go where no parodist has gone before.

Well if Rick can suggest an additional verse for Mr. Sulu, so can I, for Mr. Chekov:

Chekov is the token Russian
Monkees-hairdo, and, an accent so strange
His speech needs addressing
It will keep you guessing
When his double-yoo’s and vee’s interchange

Johnny D - November 07, 2003 - Report this comment
Hmm, that last line might have been funnier if I'd written it

When his W's and V's interchange

Loved your parody Phil but when trying to sing along I had a bit of trouble with the pacing. Maybe it's me though...I'm not much of a parody writer myself so I guess I can't be complaining to loudly.

(ABC05) Hummm. Going against the grain here...this must be old, because I've seen other songs from you that were better than this.

(ABC) see above - I loved the "Jim he's dead" line - had to work a bit to get the pacing going right, but when I eventually did, it flowed a treat

Not much of a Trekker and couldn't find a recording of the OS, but even an un-Vulcanized youngster like me can appreciate the 'Jim, he's dead" line. Keep on Trekkin', Phil.

ABC--It's worse than that...well done, Jim!
