This is the worst twisting of a Sixties song since '91 when a few Thank-you-George-may-I-have-another suckers sang, "All we are saying is kick Saddam's ass." And John Fogerty is still alive. And actually served in the Army. His criticism would be much harsher. Privileged? No, we are not privileged. We are people with RIGHTS. The people with privilege are those who try to deny us those rights, like the Bushies. If you doubt this, ask yourself if YOU would've gotten into Andover, Yale, the Governorship and the White House, and out of bankruptcy, jail and alcoholism without a rich, famous and connected father.

Michael, i don't think this song has anything to do with george bush, just the freedom that america has always had compared to a lot of the world.

P.S. to Michael Pacholek--By the way, Fogerty expressed his opinions in his original and I'm expressing mine; I didn't say he was dead. And did you notice my line, "Turn my milk into cream"? That means that although a person is not born "privileged", in the USA, people are allowed to strive to make their dreams come true. I may never realize my dreams, but I have opportunity to try. I can whine all day about the favors rich people get, and waste time I could have spent making the world, perhaps, a better place. I am not afraid, swayed, or dismayed by your diatribes.

Good job, Royce. As a retired soldier, you're damn right I feel damn proud! Michael, you are wrong. Nobody "should be" swayed by criticism. Yours is not valid in the context of this parody, or in general. You're certainly entitled to your POV, but to suggest that someone "should" be swayed is simply arrogant. I don't know you well enough to know if that was intentional, but it certainly was the effect. This song was about pride in our country - not a poltical viewpoint. Hate Bush all you want, I hated Clinton. But I was prepared to die in defense of freedom under his command. I do not allow my dissatisfaction with a particular party or regime undermine my pride and love for my country. As Al Gore quoted, that which unites us is greater than that which divides us.

Great parody, definantly ironic to read the words to this tune... Micheal, you will find a social elite in every society in the world, it is an inevitable fact that people with wealth and power will do what they can to maintain their status. The beautiful thing about our country is that this can happen without the oppresion of everyone else's rights and freedom. I think the parody is a great representation of what makes America great, and I think your opposing views and your right to express them even further shows how great our nation is. Anyway nice job Royce!
