Song Parodies -> "Feel Like I'm Nixon, I Lie"

Original Song Title:

"Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die"

Original Performer:

Country Joe & the Fish

Parody Song Title:

"Feel Like I'm Nixon, I Lie"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

"Let me just say this" (as Nixon would say): He would not appreciate this, but he earned it. When the transcripts of the Oval Office tapes were released, the constant profanities were edited so that they read "(expletive deleted)", hence the alteration of Country Joe's "Fish Cheer." "Just one more thing" (as Nixon would say): If you think Bush is the worst President we've had, take a look at Nixon's record... then read "Worse Than Watergate" by John Dean, who would know.
Gimme an "F!"
(F!)
Gimme a "U!"
(U!)
Gimme a "C!"
(C!)
Gimme a "K!"
(K!)
What's that spell?
(Expletive deleted!)
What's that spell?
(Expletive deleted!)
What's that spell?
(Expletive deleted!)
What's that spell?
(Expletive deleted!)

Well, come on, all of you Nixon men.
Tricky Dick, where have you been?
We got ourselves in a little jam.
Can you get our boys out of Vietnam?
Call the protestors "campus bums."
We're gonna have a whole lot of fun!

And it's one, two, three, who are we workin' for?
Don't ask me, I don't wanna look!
Dick Nixon is a crook!
And it's five, six, seven, break into the Watergate!
Well, ain't no time to wonder why!
Whoopee! We're all gonna lie!

Well, come on, Vice President Agnew.
We got a job for you.
Tell the media that they suck.
They're only in it for big bucks.
That's the only thing that you got right.
Resign before your tax indict!

And it's one, two, three, who are we workin' for?
Don't ask me, I don't wanna look!
Dick Nixon is a crook!
And it's five, six, seven, break into the Watergate!
Well, ain't no time to wonder why!
Whoopee! We're all gonna lie!

Well, come on, Henry Kissinger.
You see the Pentagon Pa-pers.
Peace talks, go on, drag your feet
until the Vietcong is beat.
We need plumbers to stop the leaks
like Liddy and the other freaks!

And it's one, two, three, who are we workin' for?
Don't ask me, I don't wanna look!
Dick Nixon is a crook!
And it's five, six, seven, break into the Watergate!
Well, ain't no time to wonder why!
Whoopee! We're all gonna lie!

Well, come on, Tricky Dick, get mean.
You got hammered by John Dean.
Come on, it's just sour grapes!
Oops, a smoking gun on tape!
Be the first President we had
to resign 'cause he was so bad!

All right! One, two, three, who are we workin' for?
Don't ask me, I don't wanna look!
Dick Nixon is a crook!
And it's five, six, seven, break into the Watergate!
Well, ain't no time to wonder why!
Whoopee! We're all gonna lie!

Oh, goody, I get to be the first to comment on this one. *waves lighter over head* This is one of the best (expletive deleted) parodies in the series. *kowtows* We're not worthy, we're not worthy... How many more Chief Execs do you have to cover?

Michael P - Fantastic job...loved that old "Fish" cheer. But I'm not sure I agree the Nixon was worse than Bush...I think you have to look back in 20-30 years at least, and maybe more(if we still have a country by then) to give a fair and reasoned assessment of a President's overall accomplishment and merits/demerits...but I don't have to wait anytime at all to give you "5's" for this parody.

Well done, Michael. I live near the Nixon Library and have been there several times, but am not a Nixon fan. Watergate and Vietnam might be the easiest components of his presidency to parody, but the worst elements of his "legacy" were wage & price controls and affirmative action.

And Nixon is still haunting us from his grave with lead-paint toys from China. He should have never opened-up trade with those Chinese Commies.
