The Lyrics

Evelyn and Leilah were fraudsters who were recently convicted in the UK for abond scam that involved people close to the Royal family They were Australian lesbian former brothel keepers .. it's quite a story you couldn't make it up .. look for it under the search term Operation Heptane..The headhunters are the fotball hoolignas who support Chelsea football club..recently purchased by Russian oligarch Abramovich..
Evelyn and Leilah* they sure lived by their wits
Entertained by her majesty at tea they did sit
scammin lots of greedy upper class twits
but she said "hey I don't feel nervous"
"It sure beats the hell out of selling ass and tits
And turnin those cheesy dominatrix tricks
With my tight leather corset and my big black whip
Givin h**d to the chamber of commerce"

I was sittin sweet and prettty in my snakeskin shoes
was working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity got those boardroom blues

The Princess was afraid she knew that MI5
was really out to get her she didn't think she would survive
She had a premonition she would not get out alive
From the car crash she knew that they were plannin
She wouldn't keep her mouth shut she wouldn't play the part
She went on TV to tell the world he broke her heart
With her lovers and her landmines she upset their apple cart
Don't you think all that goes without sayin?

I was sittin' sweet and pretty in my snakeskin shoes
working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity I've got those boardroom blues

But princes and presidents are not to blame
They don't realise that they're just pawns in the game
That's played out behind the scenes by those who have no name
But who think they know where we are headin
Those puppet masters are the ones who pull the strings
They get us dancing to their tune to fulfill their every whim
Regime change is nothin new .. its always been their thing
But stay cool now don't you be frettin

I was sittin sweet and pretty in my snakeskin shoes
working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity got those boardroom blues

Alberto Calvi was left hanging down at old Blackfrairs
With stones in his pockets but where did he expire?
It was P2 and the Vatican that lit his funeral pyre
Why don't you just go ask Berlusconi
But P2 was a set up by the KGB
They got all those rich Italian guys to believe it was their scene
then they exposed their little plot and the left seemed oh so squeaky clean
and the communists nearly won the election

I was sittin sweet and prettty in my snakeskin shoes
working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity I've got those boardroom blues

All Mafias they love to deal in fear and intrigue
They're moovin and groovin they like to keep up to speed
Abramovich is playin in the Premier League
He's got the headhunters to launder his money
We love a good conspiracy it makes our day
Like trying to figure out just who did shoot JFK
Oh didn't you know it was down to ????
No really I'm not trying to be funny

I was sittin sweet and prettty in my snakeskin shoes
working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity got those boardroom blues

But does it really matter does anybody give a damn?
When so many heads are buried deep in the sand
They're only into makin money and they do love Uncle Sam
Any thoughts of dissent are long abandoned
The Trilats the Bilderbergs think they know what's best
So we just leave them to it cos you know we can't be arsed
We're all just far to busy and politics is a farce
Are you comin to the pub? I'll get a round in

I was sittin sweet and prettty in my snakeskin shoes
I was working in the city till I heard the news
Oh the sorrow and the pity got those boardroom blues

Martha, from one old Dylan freak to another, just absolutely ASTOUNDING. This will go unappreciated by the vast majority, who don't recognize the song. I just did one to A Hard rain's A Gonna Fall which I doubt many will recognize either, but yours is phenominal. Keep 'em cummin'

My Dylan familiarity is woefully inadequate, and I don't know the news story, so I'm afraid I'm of little use to you there. But I'm impressed, nonetheless, by the obvious amount of work that went into this.

Wonderful job of applying the Dylan cynicism to a very intriguing set of circumstances. I liked the "funeral pyre" and "politics is a farce" lines. But - I could not find this "Operation Heptane" on Yahoo - do you have a link?
